[18+] Ooe -First Half- | Review + Plot Dump

ADELTA'S NEW GAME IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started reading it a month late because I was trying to finish Metaphor... but then 7.1 came out in FF14... my life is so busy. Anyways I snapped and started reading it anyways and now here we are... I blitzed through it all..

OOE -First Half-

Creator: ADELTA
Released October 25, 2024

What happens when an emotionally stunted detective is stranded on an abandoned island with 9 mentally unique and morally dubious "guilty" individuals? And what happens when their numbers begin to dwindle?

Yes, that's right. YAOI AMOGUS UMINEKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note, this is a rare and elusive "MC SEME ONLY" type game... so our protagonist will be a single lone gay alpha wolf in a den of devious omegas... something like that. You get the point. (No this game isn't omegaverse I don't know why I used such an example)

Game Details

The game is developed by ADELTA, which is a one-man team of Kurosawa Rinko who does basically everything, and additional assistance listed in the credits. This is their 4th published VN. Genre is spoopy horror mystery homoerotica and contains violence and gay sex. It is on the plot heavy side and has a forced route order. Each route uncovers some more details about the overarching mystery... probably.

Game Website    | Links to digital purchase sites are listed on the site (IMO it's easiest to buy as a foreigner on BOOTH) The game is 4,400 yen, and iirc second part will be release as a free update to those who purchase part 1. I'm too lazy to fact check this but I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

This is part 1 of 2, containing 3 routes. I purchased my copy via BOOTH and read it in the original Japanese. The game is not available in English, though I suspect Mangagamer will license it and release an English version in somewhere between 5 to 25 years. Just learn Japanese, it would be faster.

The Japanese level required to read the game is about upper intermediate. They do use a lot of olden day 50s terminology for things and there are references to war terms that definitely aren't taught in Japanese 3, but that's what a dictionary is for. I feel like it was harder to read than Slow Damage, but it's not crazy like Mebiusline. This may just be because my Japanese is rusty though. My main problem was just some kanji, but grammar is everything in Japanese so if you know that and have a dictionary, only kansai-ben can stop you. Anyways, good luck.

Synopsis

Taking place in post-WW2 50's Japan, Oosaki is an emotionally dull, unfeeling man who works as a detective after losing his family when he was a child. One day he is hired by his rich doppelganger to attend the memorial service of a late actress in his place while impersonating him, and this memorial happens to take place on an isolated abandoned island in fuck-all nowhere, where no one else will be present besides 9 other invitees... will Oosaki learn to feel emotions when isolated stranded island murder mysteries loom near? Or will he have gay yaoi sex? Or maybe even... both?

The title "Ooe" seems to be a play on words in reference to the Ooe 大江 island which the story takes place on, the characters essentially meaning large river or bay, likely in reference to the waters that isolate it from its neighboring islands. However, the title uses the kanji 大穢 (穢 meaning dirty, figuratively or literally) instead, so it's pronounced the same but now it means something dubious and sinister of course. Also, the name of the departed that everyone is attending a memorial service for is also Ooe, with the same characters as the island's name. What does it mean? Correct me if I'm wrong about any of this...

 REVIEW

STORY|| A | It's a classic murder mystery stranded island story. It's quite interesting to go through from the perspective of the gay detective and trying to figure out what's going on while also balancing growing chemistry between him and a suspect... though yes, the bulk of the reading experience is mostly just the mystery and detectiving. The overarching mystery is not solved within this first part, but a lot of information is revealed... so just like the classic Umineko experience, it's fun to try and toss some theories here and there. For the mystery structure, I think Ooe does a good job of sprinkling hints and red herrings everywhere. There's a lot of little points of intrigue that give you much to ponder about. While most of the murders in each route are easy enough to solve, I think the main appeal definitely lies in the overarching mystery as well as the psychological aspect of getting to know the different sides of these suspicious characters and trying to figure out what they really want. I did try to take notes throughout the game, but I don't think it was necessary for the most part. Each mystery is solvable if you actually think about it, but if you're an idiot, the story solves it for you eventually so no worries. On another note, I really appreciate how each route never repeats too much of the same information. Once you hit that branch, it's all new stuff from that point on.

Yet another note is that the game does enjoy coloring important points in red. However, it does it so often to the point that I don't think this emphasis actually has any deeper meaning besides serving the purpose of bolding text.

MUSIC|| B | There's like 4 tracks in the game. It does suit the silent and tense atmosphere, but it would be nice if there was some more variation... Each character does have a unique ending song though, so that was a delight to experience at the end of each route. The songs are nice, and I'm looking forward to the songs for the other characters. I'm giving this rating mostly for the ending songs. The VN itself might as well have no music at all with how nondescript the BGM is.

ART|| A | In typical ADELTA fashion, there are like over 100 CGs. The art is awesome as well, and you can see the improvement from the last games. The general aesthetic of this VN is very strong, with a notable focus on usage of the color red. While CG quality does vary from shot to shot, they're all more than servicable and add well to the story. I do wish my favorite characters had more and better CGs than others, but unfortunately that's a personal issue. Hopefully we get a fandisk or drama CDs for more content someday... /delusional

CHARACTERS|| A+ | I REALLY like the cast and characters. They feel quite varied, and by the end you feel like you've really gotten to know everyone... but do you really? What I find very interesting is that each character has a lot going for them, and there are also multiple characters with some kind of disability, which is very rare to find in any anime media honestly. While actually DATING these people may come as a hit or miss depending on your personal tastes, the characters themselves are very interesting to delve into the psychology of... And of course, it helps that the protagonist who we follow around is quite endearing in his own right. While he is an upstanding and boring member of society, and can be very predictable and frustrating to see in action, I still enjoyed watching his journey as he tries to keep the peace while grappling with the worst taste in men known to history.

ROMANCE|| B | And they say romance is dead... just kidding. The actual romance in this game is like... non existent honestly. BUT!! What this game DOES have is unhealthy attachments and misplaced passion. Stuff like that. These are characters who are really being smashed together from circumstances, fueled by lust, confusion, and emotional and/or physical vulnerability, so things definitely happen. It's engaging due to how wildly different the different dateable guys' approaches to intimacy is as well, since well... I'll just let you know I don't think any of these people have any friends. But that's where our protagonist comes in... what you need isn't friends.. but a SEME! Just kidding. Well, it's interesting. I became very invested in seeing how the fuck this depressing detective could possibly fall for such different people and get them to sleep with him... but he does! Amazing! Most of these guys definitely are not good for each other, but that's what we're here for, right?

OVERALL|| A | This is a great VN. I think I like it more than ADELTA's previous games so far. It just leaves a strong impact and gives you a lot to think about. I wouldn't say the mysteries are the most unique or compelling in the world, but it just comes together well and consistently entertains. As usual, the entry is carried by its sheer energy and narrative strength rather than it's yaoi portions, but for an ADELTA VN that's not to be unexpected. It's just enjoyable reading. It does feel a little slow here and there and some characters did piss me off on occasion, but overall I am so hype for the last half. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint! I'm hoping the violence escalates in part 2, but even if it doesn't, I enjoyed what I read in this part.

I highly recommend this VN to anyone who likes mystery and intrigue, mentally unwell anime boys, or mildly unhealthy yaoi couples. While so far there hasn't been any relationship dynamics that are truly deplorable and life threatening, I can't say for sure none of part 2's couples will be like that.

I'd really hope more people can read this game, and I'd love to discuss theories with anyone before part 2 comes out! Or even after. No reason not to.

Content Warnings:

All corpses in this game are stylized as silhouettes, so nothing graphic is shown at any point.

However, descriptive problematic elements includes:  asphyxiation, drowning, eye-gouging, mutilated corpses, cannibalism, burning to death, mentions of incest, mentions of violence against women, etc. Most bodies are found after the fact, so you don't see most of the violence in action.

Still, the descriptions aren't visceral or anything. Overall there's nothing that will really get the average person squeamish, so if there's nothing you're particularly stressed about then just go in blind.

SPOILER FILLED PLOT DUMP BELOW!

As usual, I doubt a plot summary can truly grasp the characters' energies and funny interactions, so I still highly recommend reading the VN yourself if possible. Anyways that's my last warning I suppose... go ahead and read if you don't mind major spoilers.

(Some order of events may be a little scrambled or not 100% accurate to the source material because my memory is not perfect, but this is the gist of things)

COMMON + ARIAKE ROUTE

(You're forced to do Ariake first and each route branches at a different point so I might as well just keep it all in one section)

Oosaki sitting ominously on the train, isolated with his face shrouded in shadow
Oosaki vibing on the train

It's 1955. Oosaki has no attachment to life, and feels nothing that other people tend to feel. While taking the train to visit the grave of his late grandmother, someone is caught in the tracks and rendered into smashed meat within seconds, splattering across the window by his seat. Yet even so, he doesn't feel a single thing as he waits for the train to continue so he can continue with his day.

When arriving at his grandmother's grave, he can't help but reminisce how there's no one left alive who he can call family. The rest of his family all died when he was a child, with his grandmother as his last remaining connection. Yet upon reaching her tome, he notices that it has already been washed and paid respects to by another visitor who must have just been there. He feels a brief regret at having missed a chance meeting with what potentially could be a relative he never knew about, all due to the train delays caused by the guy who got run over...

Oosaki later meets up with his boss, Shinkiba, who tells him they they have an urgent job. While the boss usually just assigns Oosaki whatever duty, this time he expressly states that they will only accept this job if Oosaki himself is willing. They arrive at a large manor and are greeted by Daiba Shizuma, a man with a sly smile who looks identical to Oosaki in all but expression.

Oosaki and Shizuma looking identical next to each other, though just from expression alone it's evident Shizuma has the worse personality
Shizuma usually has his hair slicked back but he's cuter like this

According to Shizuma, his father, Daiba Sahei, had received an invitation back in July to attend a memorial service for the late teen actress, Ooe An, who had killed herself via self-immolation 3 years prior. He soon became bedridden and is now lying at deaths door, though his last demands of his son was to 'attend' in his place via an identical proxy. Very strange and oddly specific, however dad insisted that if Shizuma did not do this, he would not pass him headship of the company. Supposedly.

When Shizuma brings Oosaki to meet his father, the gaunt bedridden man can do little but stare at him with an intense gaze. Oosaki cannot decipher what emotion is held within that piercing gaze, but whatever it was does not feel like it's full of any hope or desperation. Within minutes, the man passes away before his eyes... though Shizuma remains unphased, as if he had been expecting this outcome.

Shizuma clarifies that the invitation was lost by his father, so he cannot share it, however he does have the details. He must take a boat to get to an island close to his destination by August 22nd, before being ferried to the isolated and abandoned Ooe Island. It definitely sounds like the kind of thing that is extremely suspicious and should not be attended.

With no reason to refuse (besides the exceedingly odd and suspicious circumstances), Oosaki accepts this crazy request. Shizuma is so happy he gets on his knees to thank him.

In preparation for impersonating him, the two spend some time together, where Shizuma's true character begins to show. He's jovial and sociable, albeit a little crude at times. He recounts how he had an older brother who was the original heir, but two years ago, he died alongside his son in a freak boating accident while Shizuma watched on from the coast... now his sister-in-law's family accuse him of having set it up, but why would he kill his own brother?

Shizuma also gives some details about the relations between his father and Ooe An. He possesses only one photo of the two standing together, and it looks almost like a grandfather with his granddaughter. Apparently dad used to keep this photo inside his desk... They'd originally met because Daiba Constructions was in charge of some land that An's film company was renting to use for a production or something. Regardless, Shizuma is convinced his father had impure feelings towards the teenage girl.

Before splitting up, he tells Oosaki that while his own heart was full of love for his family, neither his father nor his brother had loved him back. Thus, it would be ideal if Oosaki could become his real brother, since he has so much love to share... Erm.. what. Anyways.

Oosaki's coworker is still unhappy that Oosaki took up this job, because apparently there are exceedingly suspicious circumstances surrounding Daiba Constructions... it's highly plausible that they were engaged in less than moral acquiring of land during the post war chaos end probably took advantage of the displaced to help the company grow. Still, this doesn't seem to change Oosaki's mind at all about doing his job.

The day of the memorial service comes fast, and Oosaki makes his way to the pier where a boat is scheduled to take him to the city where he would then have to take a private ferry to his destination. On the boat, he decides to pass the time with a book his boss lent him... And Then There Were None... a little on the nose but okay. Regardless, he contemplates a little about how the average person would probably feel nervous or fearful, but he doesn't feel any of that because he's dead inside.

Upon arriving, he has a sudden run in with a handsome young ikemen who nearly falls off the boat before Oosaki pulls him in, resulting in a yaoi moment.

A blushing Ariake fullbody landing sprawled on top of Oosaki while gingerly touching his body, yaoi-ly
truly the girl meets boy kyaa toast crash of yaoi

The bashful pretty twink with one broken arm in a sling introduces himself as Ariake, and shyly bats his long eyelashes at Oosaki. He's 25 years old and CLINGY. Oosaki is only 22, but he introduces himself as being 27 since that's how old Shizuma is... Ariake then clings to him after learning they're both headed to Ooe island, as if having fallen for the stoic protagonist at first sight. Oosaki starts to feel guilty about pretending to be Daiba Shizuma, but regardless he continues on using the name in making his introductions. Oosaki cannot help but think that Ariake is very pretty and easy on the eyes...

Oosaki takes the opportunity to interrogate Ariake about himself and the elusive invitation to this event, since Shizuma never provided the original to him. He first opens up as being an employee at the crematorium that took care of An's funeral, but at the subject of the invitation itself, Ariake suddenly becomes rather evasive and suspect, but eventually shows it to him. The invitation was sealed inside of an origami folded bright red envelope with no postage markings on it, and the paper itself just states the typical invite details. It does clarify that a boatman named 'Komuse' would be the one to ferry them to the island, so that's who they then look for... It also specifies that the inn Ariake will be staying at is called the 'Mikazuki Inn'. Hmm... Anyways, they find Komuse and while he has an extremely thick accent that's hard to understand, he quickly complies to taking them to Ooe Island.

Upon arrival, they note that it's a pretty large island and consists of a totally abandoned village including a temple, and large forest for the rest of the landmass. They find themselves at Mikazuki Inn, where they're greeted by a knife wielding anxiety stricken man named Funeno. Apparently he's the single employee hired by the host, and will be managing everyone's needs during the event duration. He seems incredibly anxious and is immediately cautious and fearful towards Oosaki. While moving in, Ariake decides to hang wind chimes literally everywhere because he likes them.

Soon after, they encounter another guest who will be staying at the same inn, one Mister Shinbashi. He talks with an arrogant tone, and his gaze comes across as unfriendly and cautious. He jokingly warns Oosaki about drinking water from the island, or even eating any food from the island, since there's no way to prove what could be mixed in... Oosaki cannot help but think that it's hard to be intimidated by a shorter man, especially one who's hair reminds him a bit of a cat. I GET IT OSAKI YOU'RE FUCKING GAY! Anyways.

At some point Funeno also talks a bit about how there's these special butterflies that are native to the island. Their wings resemble the backs of human hands... though the illustrations all just depict them as bright red silhouettes... surely this will have some narrative meaning in the future.

Shinbashi standing around giving the viewer a sly grin
He's so cute

While looking around the area, Oosaki takes out his watercolor set to paint the environment. Shinbashi ends up coming along to watch him as he paints the island from the pier... After some brief discussion, we come to learn that Shinbashi is a scriptwriter who authored one of the works that An was supposed to star in. However she died mid production so it was never released... Oosaki has never heard of Shinbashi though, so he assumes he uses a pen name for his official works. Alas, the man refuses to divulge it.

The subject of the invitation comes up, and Shinbashi aggressively questions him: "Who was on your invitation?"??? Hmm?? What's that supposed to mean. Oosaki is clueless. All he knows is that Daiba Sahei was the invitee, supposedly. Shinbashi then asks more questions like "Who is it on this island...?" or something like that. Oosaki, again confused, mentions that he met Ariake first and he finds him to be a fluffy individual. Shinbashi gets tired of Oosaki and leaves.

Oosaki doesn't end up meeting anyone else before heading back to Mikazuki for the evening. The inn has a single phone, so he decides to use it to send a report to his boss. To keep up the guise of being Shizuma just in case anyone is eavesdropping, he ends the call with "I love you," pretending that he'd been calling his wife (Shizuma is married. Supposedly). Lo and behold, Ariake was eavesdropping. Being the gay twink he is he's immediately like "umm who were you talking to... who you saying such pretty words too..." Oosaki has no qualms about revealing that he has a (fake) wife. For whatever reason, Ariake does not seem pleased with that news... Oosaki then asks if Ariake wants to call his own wife next, eyeing the wedding ring on his ring finger obviously. For whatever reason Ariake abruptly changes the subject and suggests they get dinner. Wonder what that means!!

Funeno prepared dinner for all the guests, so they get to eat their fill. Even if it's just the three of them (including Shinbashi). Shinbashi eventually appears but he's still refusing to consume anything from the island, so he lets Ariake eat his plate. Ariake is a gluttonous foodie who whimpers and moans at the prospect of consuming large amounts of food, so he's happy with the turn of events. While bonding, Ariake insists that Oosaki help feed him since poor Ariake only has one arm~~ Onegai~~~ SLUT!!! Anyways, Oosaki does not understand why Ariake is trying to befriend him, and the twinkier man just says "Well why wouldn't I want to befriend you... if me and a stranger were drowning, wouldn't you want to save who is closer to you?" Being the stone cold bitch he is, Oosaki simply replies "I would save whoever is physically closer because it would be more efficient." Ariake is flabbergasted but this response does not deter him.

After dinner, they're informed by Funeno that the 2nd inn on the island has a natural hot spring which they are free to go use. Seeing as there's no reason to refuse, they then head to the 2nd inn, Yaegaki.

Upon arriving at Yaegaki, they can hear the voices of other men coming from within the building... this must be some of the other invitees... Ignoring them, the two head to the changing room on the first floor which has a door leading to a large indoor bath, and then another door leading to the outside natural hot springs. Getting ass naked, they're first a little shook since the outdoor path to the spring is a bit of a walk away, so they have to walk through some woods while freeballing. The spring itself though is quite awesome and has a great view of the ocean, giving them the feeling that they're in the middle of the ocean while relaxing there...

While nude, Ariake discovers that Oosaki has sever burn scars on his palms. He questions why he doesn't have them surgically fixed... Since Oosaki is pretending to be Shizuma right now, he lies and says it's just a temporary burn he got while holding a hot water kettle and that it will fade in time. I don't know how anyone can possibly believe that. In truth though, he likes his palms as is. It helps him remember something he'd rather not forget... Either way, it doesn't hurt so he sees no reason to do anything about it. They chill more, and then another person appears...

Takeshiba, completely nude, standing in the hot springs

Here comes Takeshiba, a comedian/magician/general entertainer who seems to be familiar with Ariake. He speaks in a thick kansai dialect, and generally comes across as sociable and friendly. Apparently he met Ariake at An's funeral, and are already on cordial terms. For whatever reason they freeball together in the spring but there's little to no bonding since Oosaki is unsociable.

Eventually spring time comes to an end and Oosaki returns to Mikazuki with Ariake. At some point or another that night, Funeno tries to talk to Oosaki alone. He claims that 'their invitations were switched', but that it wasn't something he could really discuss at the moment. He asks Oosaki if he'd be willing to 'trade' after the memorial service is over... ???? What is that supposed to mean. However, he doesn't really let Oosaki get a word in before running off. Left with nothing but his thoughts, Oosaki returns to his room to document his findings thus far. He opens his trusty notebook, where he illustrates a drawing of Ariake because he's attracted to gay little twinks and the pretty boy left an impression on him. In the dead of the night, Oosaki hears some thumping noises from where he presumes to be the general vicinity of Ariake's room, but decides not to investigate. Regardless, he has trouble sleeping. In general, if he doesn't take his sleeping pills it's difficult for him to sleep.

The next day is the day of the memorial service. Obviously Ariake wants to head over alongside Oosaki, but surprisingly Shinbashi also decides to tag along with them. As usual, he is kind of mean and antagonistic and it's immediately evident that he and Ariake can't stand each other on some primal level, but Oosaki does not give a fuck.

Ooe Island's temple lies at the end of the small village, up a long staircase. Upon arriving, Oosaki comes to meet the other invitees and introduces himself as Daiba Shizuma, who had come as proxy for his father, Daiba Sahei who was the actual invited.

He meets the mustacheo'd surgeon, Shijyoumae, who seems to be upstanding and charismatic albeit giving the airs of someone a little self-centered but lowkey goofy. Apparently he specializes in burns and was the surgeon that treated An's body after she set herself on fire. There's Takeshiba from yesterday, who seems to get along well enough with Shijyoumae. Apparently he had met An-chan through work and was fond of her. There's the silent Aomi, who sits in the corner elegantly. He's a graceful beauty who catches Oosaki's eye... Apparently he was a composer for The Whistling Girl which An starred in, and was her advisor and music teacher for its production.

Last is a literal child in a middle school gakuran who seems incapable of speaking and relies on a crutch. Oosaki attempts to communicate with him by providing his notebook, but rather than writing on it, the child traces characters with his finger, spelling 'Hinode' in hiragana. After some light interrogation, Oosaki deduces that Hinode had come in place of his mother, who was the actual invitee. Who the fuck would send their 13 year old BABY CHILD to a suspect isolated island though, who can say.

Eventually, the last invitee stumbles in, a college student named Shiodome. Apparently he had been drinking late into the night with Shijyoumae and partying like animals, so he overslept after vomiting everywhere back at Yaegaki. Shiodome majors in folklore and regional myths and history and stuff, and is generally extremely loud, hyperactive, and completely incapable of reading the mood. Ariake immediately hates him. Anyways, it soon becomes apparent that he has 0 relations to Ooe An whatsoever, so why was he invited??? He pulls out his invitation to prove his legitimacy as a guest, though just the site of the red envelope causes everyone except Oosaki to freeze as if having seen something unpleasant... SUS...

In their discussion some lore about the island is dropped. Apparently Ooe Island was once an island comprising only of women... yet somehow it still flourished without population drops... Another says that Ooe Island was also once known as a place where criminals were banished to... is that where the babies came from. Overall the consensus is that it was a women ruled island where women made the rules. The inns they're all staying at were originally brothels as well, so that's probably saying something.

I don't remember when exactly, but they also start gushing about Aomi's accomplishments and it comes up at some point that apparently he had a scandal where the song used in The Whistling Girl was actually plagiarized, having stole from one of his pupils who then killed himself from shame. Aomi does not deny the allegations and continues to have his doesn't give a hoot attitude.

They all bond over how dear An was to them, besides Shiodome of course who has never met her. I believe it's mentioned at some point that she killed not just herself, but her parents as well when she set herself on fire, but it does bring up the question why they aren't also in the memorial service... Sus. Either way, she was a bright and successful actress of only 18 when she abruptly did all that. Nobody knows why...

All 8 invitees sitting around the waiting room table
All the invitees
The door opens, and Funeno comes to tell everyone to head to the main temple hall where the service will begin. Everyone's shooked since the host has yet to arrive! But then Funeno drops a bombshell... The host... had never arrived! Apparently they couldn't come after all, so the service would be carried out without them! Hmm??????? SUS! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN!?!??

Upon arriving at the main temple hall, they meet the priest Toyosu who carries out the ceremony. Everyone plays along, though lord knows most of them are more concerned about the situation rather than paying respects to Ooe An.

Toyosu soon reveals that his invitation had stated that the host was never coming from the get go. It's a little strange, since apparently Funeno's invitation stated the host WOULD be going, though he learned last minute that this was not the case... I don't remember if he just learned it from Toyosu or otherwise, but whatever. He also gives some cultural info about the ceremony in general. Apparently the customs practiced locally is that the 3rd year memorial is more in service of the mourners, rather than the mournees, since the belief is that the soul has already passed on by the 2nd year past death.

After the service they have lunch time. Apparently it's a special lunch that's part of the memorial service, though Shinbashi refuses to participate. While normally there would be a seating order by hierarchy, Shiodome immediately grabs a random seat so everyone else ends up taking random spots as well, though the seating order really doesn't matter much.

For whatever reason, there are eleven meals set up total though only eight are participating. Apparently there's a custom to leave out a meal for the deceased, but Oosaki deduces that one meal is for the staff, Funeno. When the group invites him to join in, he has a complete nervous breakdown and lashes out at them in refusal. Coming to his senses, he apologizes before telling everyone the bonfire ritual that ends the memorial service will be held that night and that everyone should gather at the temple then. After, he quickly absconds... The mood sours instantly from that strange outburst.

Abruptly, Shinbashi bursts in and demands that Oosaki and Ariake come with him to Mikazuki. He claims that somebody has been playing an extremely annoying record, and that clearly one of Mikazuki's residents is the culprit. Regardless, he wants that shit turned off immediately. Though bewildered, they comply. After getting to Mikazuki, there is in fact the low rumbling sound of a record playing what seems to be a recording of the Buddhist Heart Sutra. Oosaki soon finds the source: a record player sitting in Funeno's staff room. The record itself is unmarked, with signs that the label had been removed. But where is Funeno?

Shinbashi testifies that after the bizarre sutra began playing, he heard what sounded like Funeno screaming and running around. It pissed him off so he went to find his inn-mates rather than confront Funeno. Hmm okay. The squad finds muddy footprints in the halls, which leads to Funeno's corpse in Oosaki's room!? Concerning... Shinbashi is disturbed but suspicious, and Ariake immediately is just "EHHH IS HE... D...D...D-DEAD!? EHHH How could this be...!?" or watever like you're not helping.

Red sihlouette of Funeno's body, lying on the floor with sleeping pills by his mouth. He's surrounded by Oosaki's watercolors and notes that are scattered across the floor.
Dead guy

Funeno's corpse looks as if sleeping, though it appears he'd spilled a fuck ton of sleeping pills on the floor. Signs point to him having rummaged through Oosaki's things, as if searching for something, but it's apparent he did not find what he was looking for. It appears that perhaps after he failed to find what he wanted, he committed suicide by sleeping pills... but Oosaki has another idea...

He recognizes the brand of sleeping pill as the kind he uses himself, and he's aware that after excessive usage, the body builds a tolerance to it. When it no longer helps you sleep, rather it will just give a sedative effect. Being the anxious sort, Funeno must have taken the medication to quell his nerves... but then why did he die...? It couldn't have been an overdose, could it...? Oosaki keeps this info to himself. For now.

The squad reports Funeno's death to the rest of the cast, and the local doctor Shijyoumae declares it as suicide by overdose... Nobody seems to question it except Oosaki.

Toyosu suggests doing a mini funeral for Funeno and moving his body to the temple. Oosaki is flabbergasted, since that would literally be disturbing the crime scene, but everybody just agrees for some reason. He feels extremely odd as the crew does this, but he does not argue with them. Afterwards, Shiodome suggests that they complete the bonfire ritual, since the memorial service was what they'd all come for. Having done research on Ooe Island in advance, he claims to be well versed in the customs of the island, that including this specific send off ritual. The others comply.

The ritual comprises of putting together straw to create a human shaped doll, which would then be set aflame in a straw pile within the temple grounds. According to Shiodome, the local belief was that if this ritual was not performed on the 3rd anniversary, the deceased's spirit would return as an evil spirit. Supposedly. Half the group works on that while the other half fucks around I guess. Regardless, Oosaki is left with a lot to ponder about.

As usual, Ariake sticks to Oosaki like glue as Oosaki returns to Mikazuki to investigate. He decides to let Ariake know that he suspects this was a murder rather than a suicide... and that the main suspects are those who had time to themselves while everyone was at the temple... Shiodome who arrived late, Toyosu who only has an alibi for when the ceremony started, and Shinbashi who left early...

After gathering back at Yaegaki, the group discovers that the phones at both inns have been DESTROYED via AXE! According to Funeno, these two phones were the only ones on the island... how do they communicate with the mainland now? Everyone splits up to search for any additional means of contacting the mainland, but nothing comes up.

Aomi claims that he had asked Komuse about the pick up time, and that Komuse had promised to return at 8am the next day. This calms everyone down, so the general mood remains restrained even though someone literally just turned up dead.

Basically, it all comes down to nobody having an alibi for when the phones were destroyed. Nobody was really paying attention to what anyone was doing last night or before meeting up at the temple, so literally anything is possible. However what remains clear is that the axe used to destroy the phones was originally from Yaegaki, and that it was used at Mikazuki before abandoned at Yaegaki... So whoever took it, headed to Mikazuki first before returning and leaving it at the final crime scene... What could this mean?

Night descends and they all head back to the temple to do the bonfire thing. Each person takes turns adding flames to a torch they pass to each other, before the last individual tosses the torch into the bonfire where the human effigy sits. After some burning, Oosaki begins to see a human figure emerging from the flames... Could this be a PTSD war flashback? Since the image soon overlays with a memory of his past, of his grandmother crouched down as flames engulfed her...

Anyways, no it was not entirely a flashback. Someone had switched the real human straw effigy with Funeno's corpse, and hid it with straw. His corpse has now been completely toasted. Who the fuck would do that...? The crew is left flabbergasted as they start to panic and blame each other for what happened. Since they each took turns setting the torch on fire, doesn't that mean they're all complicit in desecrating the body!?!?

Shiodome disrupts everyone by claiming that everyone should just brush it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. There's nothing for anyone to worry about, since Funeno was someone who deserved to die anyways! After some people wonder why the fuck he'd say something like that, he pulls out his invitation, before taking out... a second page from within... The paper states, "Criminal Charges: Funeno Kureichirou, You killed your sister. Thus I condemn you to death." Something like that. Everybody is shellshocked... why did Shiodome have this document?

Ariake freaks out and quickly reveals that HE possesses SHIODOME'S CHARGES! Shidome immediately tries to pressure him into forking them over, and it soon becomes appaernt that EVERYONE had criminal charges in their invitation. But not one for themself, but for a different individual amidst the invitees... The group then decides to hand the charges back to the one condemned, revealing the following order of who had who's paper:

A chart showing the pattern of who received who's criminal charges
The cycle of criminal charges...

??-> Shinbashi-> Takeshiba-> Aomi-> Toyosu-> Hinode-> Shijyoumae-> Ariake-> Shiodome-> Funode-> ??

Filling the gaps, one can conclude that Funode had Daiba Shizuma's charges, and that Daiba Shizuma should have Shinbashi's... Shinbashi demands it from Oosaki, but obviously Oosaki doesn't have anything since the real Shizuma said the invitation got lost. Shinbashi doesn't believe a word of it and cutely gets rightfully upset. Most of the squad of course claim that the charges written on theirs is false and that these are just baseless claims, but we all know they're probably all accurate...

Shinbashi tearfully grabbing Oosaki by the collar, demanding his charges
He is so cute

Anyways, Oosaki decides to solve the mystery, so he just demands that anyone who wants to know who killed Funeno should come with him, before heading to Mikazuki. Everyone besides the two elderly and the baby child decide to go. In Funeno's room, they find his invitation, which of course contains the charges for... DAIBA SHIZUMA! HE KILLED HIS OLDER BROTHER ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER'S SON!!! IN THAT BOATING INCIDENT 2 YEARS AGO!!

The squad is flabbergasted, since Oosaki had claimed he (Shizuma), was not the invitee but his father... this paper clearly proves otherwise! Somehow, Oosaki is not surprised... it seems the real Shizuma has really pulled some shit here. He decides he's had enough, and reveals his identity as a third party detective, Oosaki. Clearly he doesn't have to worry about the charges because he's not actually Shizuma! Obviously, the team finds that extremely hard to believe, besides Ariake who immediately sides with him. Shinbashi still thinks Oosaki is a liar and just trying to confuse them to hide his charges.

Regardless, Oosaki reveals the culprit as Shiodome, who had replaced the content of some sleeping pills with cyanide, before mixing them into Funeno's pill bottle. Apparently he also used the same brand of sleeping pills as Oosaki and Funeno, and seeing the bottle in Funeno's room made him realize his opportunity to kill... Originally, Shiodome had assumed that Funeno held his charges, since he had Funeno's, and that they were just swapped by accident. In fact most of the people there assumed their papers had been swapped, but of course we just learned that was not quite the case. He could easily set up the record by just leaving it on in Funeno's room, since there was no power running in the inn until Funeno returned to turn on the power that afternoon, when the record would play on its own... He had the time to set it up since he was late for the service. More damning is the fact that as a folklore major, Shiodome was really the only one who had access to educational preserved records such as the one containing the heart sutra, and checking his luggage would reveal that he did leave enough space to bring such a thing. Funeno, having an anxious personality and being ridden with guilt, freaked out when the sutra began playing and became desperate to find his charges amongst Oosaki's things, since he held Daiba Shizuma's and made the assumption they were swapped... He then took the pills to calm his nerves, but of course... it was actually cyanide... RIP. SHIODOME'S THE CULPRIT!!!

He admits to his crime, though he is extremely not feeling guilty about it... Since the jig is up, he also decides to confess that the bonfire he ritual he had them perform actually had nothing to do with appeasing the spirits of the dead. In truth, it was an ancient ritual passed down on this isolated island in the past... a cannibalism ritual. Veerrry funny... So the squad drags him back to Yaegaki where Oosaki ties him up and tosses him into the indoor bath tub. It's one of the only rooms with a locked door after all... Shijyoumae decides to hold onto the key. He also waxes poetic about how he BELIEVED in Shiodome and thought he was such an UPSTANDING YOUTH! HOW COULD HE BETRAY HIS EXPECTATIONS LIKE THIS!!! Nobody else really wanna talk about him anymore though. Anyways they also tell everyone else that Oosaki is actually a detective, and they seem to buy it... for now...

The remaining guests try to sort out the situation, and find that each person's invitation marked a different date on which they were requested to come to the island. It's clear the host had intentionally tried to make sure they couldn't gather beforehand to decide on a plan of action. It becomes extremely evident that the host had malicious intent from the get-go... SUS! Shinbashi is positive the boat is NOT coming tomorrow, but the rest of them still wish to have hope. As usual, Ariake clings to Oosaki all like weh weh so scawy but I trust you Oosaki-san~<3 or something like that. He also cutely mentions being happy to learn Oosaki is actually younger than him... but he still wants to call him Oosaki-san~ He's also ecstactic to learn that Oosaki is NOT actually married, and that his phone call was to his platonic boss. Why he is ecstactic, Oosaki does not bother to ask.

I can't remember when exactly this happens, but at some point the group does discuss a bit about the supposed criminal charges. A majority of course claim that they're false... yet nobody seem to doubt the veracity of Shiodome's. Hmm! Curious! Shijyoumae confesses that after receiving his invitation, he'd actually hired a private investigator to check the veracity of Ariake's charges (since he received Ariake's), and was happy to state that they were FALSE. Ariake however is left flabbergasted... he had felt like he was being watched by someone the previous month, and actually broke his arm while escaping from his ghostly stalker. Funny. Shijyoumae now feels a little bad, but that's all in the past... Regardless, everyone smiles knowing that nobody is a criminal and all these charges are false. NOT!!! OF COURSE THEY'RE NOT FALSE... SUS!! SUS!!!!!

Anyways, the group all sleep together in the same room that night for safety purposes, though anytime they go downstairs to use the bathroom they can hear Shiodome's shrill psychotic laughter from the baths...

I'll just make a note on the general group dynamics. Oosaki feels like he must protect the weak, so he looks out for Ariake and little Hinode. Ariake seems to care very little about anyone, but he's hostile to Shinbashi, sympathetic towards Hinode, and obviously head over heels for Oosaki. Hinode seems to trust Oosaki, though he tends to cling to the kind priest who looks after him. Toyosu just acts like an old gentle man and sits around without doing anything besides looking after baby. Shinbashi of course refuses to even pretend to be friends with anyone, while continuing to suspect everyone. Aomi is also extremley aloof, though everything he says is completely logical and he only gives opinions when he deems it necessary. Shijyoumae's always talking about this and that, but it's impossible to guess where his loyalties lie and who he suspects versus who he doesn't. Takeshiba is generally friendly, and he seems to get along better with Shijyoumae than the rest, though who can say how he really feels.

The next day morning, THE BOAT OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T COME! THEY'RE FUCKING STRANDED. Shijyoumae apparently had his own contacts that he requested to bring a boat, yet that didn't show either. Shinbashi also made his own preparations, yet his didn't show up either. SUS!!!!!!!!!!

Realizing they may be here for a while, they try to gather what food can be found on the island, and Oosaki finds some canned food and dry bread in Mikazuki. Shinbashi suggests they keep it a secret and divide it just amongst their Mikazuki team, but Oosaki REFUSES because it wouldn't be fair. Doing anything 'unfair' goes against his life code, and hes adamant about following this sense of justice for his entire life... Upon gathering, of course the Yaegaki team did not find any food, so they split what Oosaki found amongst everyone and ration it for the days to come.

Takeshiba attempting to entertain while seductively opening a folding fan
He is so cute

Nervous and stressed, the team end up holing up inside one of Yaegaki's rooms.  Takeshiba pulls out some entertainering and the crew discusses random inane shit to try and relax. To lighten the mood, Takeshiba begins trying to do magic card tricks, though nobody except Toyosu is impressed. He tells some stories about how even the darkest days can lead to a happier tomorrow... and how when he was young, his whole family died in a fire at his childhood home, but that now he's still getting by. He asks Oosaki what his darkest times were, and Oosaki simply replies that in his heart, it's constantly raining.... Okay................................................. Anyways at some point, Ariake hands some caramels out as guesture of goodwill or something. However, Oosaki refuses... he actually hates caramel specifically... but it's hard to just say that, so he just insists he doesn't like sweets...

Takeshiba and Oosaki decide to prepare tea for everyone and head to the kitchen, where Takeshiba prepares it and Oosaki pours it and sets a platter to bring it to the group. In the kitchen, he finds three shelves with eleven cups total, matching the eleven seats at lunch the previous day. The first row has only one cup, while the higher two rows have equal cups in each row. Oosaki grabs the singular lone cup first and places it on the tray closest to himself, before setting the other cups one by one.

They return to the room and Oosaki proceeds to serve cups to everyone, though Shinbashi of course refuses. He hands them out from furthest on the platter to the closest, and is about to hand Takeshiba a cup, when Takeshiba avoids his hand and takes the cup set for himself... it's clear he does not trust Oosaki completely. Nobody drinks until they see Aomi begin to drink his tea first... seeing nothing happened, the rest feel comfortable enough to drink. But whoops, Takeshiba suddenly feels SICK! That's not good is it...

He tries to leave the room, before collapsing in the hallway... the group quickly takes him to a room and Shijyoumae tries to help him, but it's too late. He's dying! In a fit of madness, he seems to start seeing eyes watching him from within the closet... Oosaki looks and sees eyes as well... so he closes the door... (He obviously did not actually see eyes, Oosaki is just having a mental moment. He does that sometimes.) Realizing he's not gonna make it, Takeshiba grabs Aomi by the color and screams with his remaining strength: "You did this... I know it was you..." before croaking. Aomi is somewhat perturbed, but quickly regains his composure. The group comes to the conclusion that Takeshiba thinks Aomi killed him because Aomi was the one who held his charges... Could it be...? However this was clearly not a targetted attack but a random killing.. since only one cup had been poisoned and there was no way to decide who took who's cup.

Takeshiba who is now rendered as a red sihlouette, grips onto Aomi's lapel angrily. Aomi looks surprised and is sweating slightly
Aomi looks cute when bewildered

Except for one, that is... Oosaki's... Everything points to someone having targetted Oosaki specifically, from the order of the cups in the kitchen, to his manner of serving. But the only people who had seen him serve drinks before were those at Mikazuki, since he served before during dinner on the first day... Hmm! Much to consider!

Anyways, Oosaki is not that composed after this abrupt killing, so he doesn't actually thinks of all this just yet. The squad in general is quite alarmed and confused, and of course as per usual, Ariake's all like "OMG nooo who could've done this!? Is Takeshiba-san... dead!?!? Murdered...!?!??" WHAT DO YOU THINK!! OF COURSE HE WAS FUCKING MURDERED! Anyways, they decide to search the belongings of the suspicious parties, which include Aomi, the accused, Shinbashi, who refused to drink, and I think either Takeshiba or Oosaki? I don't remember. Regardless, nobody has any poison on them. Oosaki insists that they should avoid conflict and that everyone keeping together and avoiding further accusations is the only way to stay safe before help finally arrives. IF help is arriving that is.

Also, I don't remember when but at some point since Takeshiba's already dead, Shinbashi just drops randomly how his charges said he had killed his whole family. So his story about them dying in a freak house fire accident comes into question... Whelp, he already dead now sooo nobody cares.

Back to the plot, Oosaki doesn't want any reckless turning on each other going on, so they all just... don't do anything. Once again, they all huddle in a room together and another insomniac night passes without any deaths. Obviously, not just no boats the next day, a typhoon sweeps by too, leaving everybody wet and cold. This and that happens and the crew continues to debate over details of what's happened thus far, and Oosaki comes to the frightening conclusion that the most viable culprit for who broke the phones is Toyosu... I don't remember what logic led to this but it was going by people's alibis or something.

Throughout all this, Oosaki gets in the habit of keeping watch of Shiodome's bathtub room at night, though he does NOT shut the fuck up. Shiodome begs Oosaki to tell him goodnight because he's apparently incapable of sleeping without it, but Oosaki does not speak to him whatsover. In general, Shiodome is an annoying noisy fuck, but he refuses food and drink unless if Oosaki hand delivers it. He complains a lot about having to piss himself since he's been restrained this entire time with no means of not pissing himself, but Oosaki has no sympathy at all... Cruel... He eventually begins to refuse drink to avoid pissing himself again...

Anyways, some days later, at some point the group loiters at the pier again in hopes of a boat, but of course nothing ever comes. Hinode gets heatstroke or something, so Oosaki asks Ariake to take him back to the inn with Toyosu. Ariake wants to stick with Oosaki because he's a thirsty hoe, but Oosaki insists he goes... even though he literally suspects Toyosu like... do you give a fuck. Anyways, some hours later Oosaki returns to Yaegaki last with Aomi, where they soon learn that SOMEBODY... HAS RELEASED SHIODOME! HE'S FUCKING GONE! All that remains is the glass of water he didn't drink. The backdoor isn't broken either, so it clearly was someone on the inside... Shijyoumae still has his key as well, so does someone have a spare key? THE CRIMINAL IS AMONG US!!!!!!!!!! Of course, any suspicions of Ariake, who was first to discover Shiodome's disappearance, are handwaved by Oosaki since someone so cute and pretty clearly is not capable of any malicious intent.

The squad try to find Shiodome, but all they find is that he had apparently dragged out Funeno's charred corpse and cut off his head to take with him for some reason. Ariake of course assumes he took it to EAT! SINCE HE'S A CANNIBAL!! He only now decides to announce that Shiodome's charges accused him of cannibalizing his foster father. Now that's a little weird... Perturbed at the thought that he might return to eat more, the crew decides to bury the remainder of Funeno's corpse. At some point, Ariake also tells Oosaki that the next time they're alone, he wants to tell him something... but what?

Still clinging to some semblance of order, the team decides to bathe in groups since they're all sweaty after the body burying, with Ariake and Oosaki being paired together. They bond somewhat and it's extremely evident that Ariake is soooo into Oosaki, but by the time Oosaki finally remembers to ask Ariake what the fuck he wanted to talk about, the next group comes in. We get to see a shot of Shinbashi's sexy back ad he strips, and for some reason it's dotted in some kind of red marks... Oosaki notes that they are very much unnatural and were likely man made wounds. That's hot. I mean... that's interesting. Ya.

Shinbashi at the springs with his shirt off, looking back at Oosaki wondering why the fuck he's still staring at him. His back is spectacled with a trail of red dots.
He is so cute

Okay the order of events I'm totally lost on but it really doesn't matter. Basically, group trust begins to crumble, and later Aomi tells Oosaki that he suspects Ariake of hiding something. He tells Oosaki to try stripping Ariake naked to look for a key, but Oosaki is offended by even just the THOUGHT of Ariake being guilty of ANYTHING. Ariake really has no good excuse to defend himself with, but he just acts wibbly and baby and Oosaki eats it right up.

Later on, Aomi and Oosaki end up headed to the pier alone to check on the status of the lack of a boat I believe. On the way there, Aomi tells Oosaki that he has something to show him, because out of the group he trusts that Oosaki is the most fair in judgement. He leads them to a little hut a little ways off from the pier, which contains a little fishing boat. They had found diesel oil the previous night while running about, so Aomi had come to the conclusion that they now had what was necessary to start this boat... This was a means of escape... After checking it, they can't find any signs of tampering so it should work. Judging by what they find, it becomes apparent that this boat was what Funeno used to come to the island, and had hidden it there as likely his escape plan. However, Takeshiba and Aomi had discovered it together while searching for a spare phone back on that day way back then... The two decided to keep it a secret, but after Takeshiba's death, Aomi has decided to give Oosaki the privelege of deciding what to do with it... Also, it becomes obvious that Takeshiba was really accusing Aomi of killing him over this boat and not because of the charges thing.

Anyways, being a fair person, Oosaki reveals the status of the boat to the entire group. Toyosu volunteers to ride it to the mainland for help, since he claims to have experience with fishing boats in his youth. Even tho Oosaki suspects Toyosu of being the malicious secret host, he lets him do it because it would at least remove the dangerous party from their group. Still, when talking together, Toyosu seems nothing but kind and priestly... When the priest begins rubbing his hands from his old man bones pain, Oosaki takes notice of how boney and pale they are... before thinking to himself how the hands of people with rheumatism are strangely beautiful.... what the fuck are you talking about. Toyosu also opens his eyes for once, revealing completely black sclera. Erm... That's a little weird but okay.

Toyosu sitting with his eyes slightly opening, revealing how he has black sclera
He looks pretty sus to me, yet Oosaki only eyeing his FINGERS???

I don't remember if this scene happened now or way earlier, but back at Yaegaki, Ariake tries to pass out caramel again to calm people's nerves. Oosaki of course refuses from his hate of caramel, but then uses the paper to fold an origami bird to give to Ariake... Apparently he learned in the past that folding origamis can help wishes come true or something. Ariake immediately gives the origami bird to Hinode, who is very pleased. Oosaki is lowkey upset Ariake gave his present away, but does not say anything upon seeing Hinode's smile.

The next morning, Toyosu leaves the party to engage in some prayers for safe traveling alone, before returning in full priestly garb. He gently says goodbye to the group and Hinode in particular, who was attached to him, and quickly takes off in the little boat. In the meantime, Oosaki tries to set a little bonfire, but it clearly does not have any effect as the neighboring islands make no move to send help. The whole squad is convinced at this point that the locals on the neighboring isles have all been paid off. Like ten minutes later, after the boat has gotten far enough out into the sea that it would be difficult to swim back, Toyosu stands up in the boat and seems distraught over something... and the boat soon sinks into the sea... Okay... Oosaki almost tries to dive into the sea to rescue, but soon realizes that there's no hope of rescue with how distant he was.

Of course, Ariake is all like "Oh no how could this possibly happen!?? Who could've done this!?!?" HOW WOULD I KNOW... Anyways. There's nothing much anyone can do, so they just go back to Yaegaki. Aomi reconfirms with Oosaki that the boat did not seem tampered with, so someone must have done something after they had taken it out... but who? Oosaki starts to feel bad for suspecting Toyosu since he's fucking dead now, but that still doesn't remove the fact that Toyosu was the only one who could've smashed the phones. What is going on...

Soon enough, the remaining survivors come to realize that ALL THEIR FOOD IS GONE. Shijyoumae also reveals that... Yaegaki had their own hidden secret stores of food they'd been sharing amongst themselves, and that was stolen too. Oosaki is flabbergasted that they'd be so DEVIOUS, but now is not the time or place. Everyone comes to the ominous conclusion that Toyosu had taken all their food and hidden it under his extra priestly garbs, before taking it all with him to his watery grave. YOU SLIMY RAT!!!!!!!!!! Team camaraderie completely evaporates, and Ariake soon falls ill from stress. Apparently.

Teary eyed Ariake looking out wistfully at the sea, face flushed, with his wedding ring still on as he cups his own face in apparent worry
Don't remember when this shot is, but Ariake always looking like this

Since nobody give a fuck about staying in groups anymore, Oosaki looks after Ariake alone in a room. Ariake then tells him that the thing he wanted to tell him earlier was that before Takeshiba was poisoned, he saw Shinbashi entering the kitchen... With all the clues put together, it's obvious that Shinbashi was specifically trying to kill Oosaki, who he still believed to be Daiba Shizuma and hiding his charges, but accidentally killed Takeshiba who took Oosaki's cup.

Suddenly, Oosaki hears Shinbashi yelling from the main hall. He accuses ARIAKE of having been involved in Takeshiba's death, since he saw Ariake entering the kitchen! How the turns table. Of course Oosaki's just like... bruh Ariake literally said you were the one who was going in.. but Shinbashi's like, "yeah he saw me going in because I went in after seeing him COMING OUT! Even people like me can drink water too, I only went to drink water obviously." Sure. Either way, everybody arguing and Shinbashi has the bright idea to hold a public vote. Everyone votes for who they think is the main culprit behind sinking the boat, and they will then execute them. "Isn't this what you wanted MR. DETECTIVE... the group is COLLABORATING!!!!!" Shinbashi is so cute and funny.

Even tho Shinbashi is really cute and funny, for whatever reason Oosaki is super fucking pissed. Also, strangely enough, Shinbashi passes over continuing to accuse Ariake, and instead begins to spin a story of how AOMI is the mastermind. Aomi had the opportunity and motivations as well to commit these crimes... even if not all of them, he must've been the one to sabotage that boat, right? Shinbashi claims that he will go to tell Hinode about the vote, so Oosaki can go ahead and talk it out with Ariake.

Oosaki tries to come up with a plan on how to avoid executing anyone. He suspects that Shinbashi would convince Hinode to join him in voting Aomi, and he also trusts that Aomi would obviously not vote for himself... so he would have to vote for Shinbashi who is also exceedingly suspect right now. Though it's a fact that Shinbashi has an alibi for every crime except the poisoning, so I don't see why someone logical like Aomi would ever vote for him, but well Oosaki's desperate right now. He trusts that if he and Ariake vote for Shinbashi, the vote would tie. Ariake's just like "oh don't worry about little ol me I'm happy as long as we're together <3" like okay... that's not helpful you clingy slut.

The vote commences, and Shinbashi allows Oosaki the honor of taking the names out of the hat. For some reason... every vote... is for Ariake???? Everyone except him and Ariake voted for Ariake. Okay... Oosaki's vision blurs as he'sc onsumed by visceral rage. Why would Aomi vote for Ariake?? Why would Hinode?? Wasn't Ariake always nice to Hinode? Of course, Aomi just off handedly states that he suspected Ariake from the beginning so this was a no brainer... duh. Since he's a beast in detective's clothes, they bonk Oosaki on the head while he's distracted to incapacitate him and avoid further conflict.

When he awakens, it's the dead of night and Shijyoumae is staring at him with a flashlight. He seems not in his right mind, and starts yammering about how it's only justice to have Ariake executed. He also tells Oosaki that Ariake is actually an evil and manipulative person. He knows, because he had his charges! Ariake is guilty of murdering his wife. Only the worst of people could possibly do something like that... in fact it's worse than Shiodome's eating of his father! Totally! Oosaki obviously refuses to belive a prettyboy like Ariake is capable of such evils, and ignores everything Shijyoumae says. Shijyoumae continues to yammer about how he's seen many men like Oosaki while tending to the half dead on the battlefield during the war... and that Oosaki must continue to persevere... It's all quite strange honestly.

Anyways, Oosaki tries to talk to Ariake who's still not executed yet. He tells Oosaki not to worry about him and that he'll accept anything that comes his way as long as Oosaki survives 👼like okay... sure. Oosaki confronts Aomi and all Aomi has to say is that if Ariake doesn't escape before the execution, he'll believe he's innocent. But then he'll be exceuted. But at that point he doens't give a fuck anyways. Oosaki's just like... bruh what the fuck. Anyways, seeing as how Ariake got zorked up the wazoo with sleeping pills to prevent his escape, he has indeed not escaped by execution time. Oosaki decides to give up on everyone and attempts to steal away his princess, before Shinbashi appears and starts shooting because he has a gun apparently. Shinbashi also pulls out a red envelope, yelling "I found this in your things DAIBA... YOU DO HAVE YOUR INVITATION... SO WHERE'S MY CHARGES YOU LYING BITCH!" and tries to shoot at him at point blank distance, missing every time probably because he has 0 experience handling guns and also only has one eye. Oosaki's a little confused by his outburst since obviously he didn't have an invitation, but it matters little as he absconds with his beloved Ariake.

Oosaki carrying an unconscious Ariake as he runs into the woods. Some red butterflies are visible.
Oosaki carrying his beloved deep into the woods

Escaping deep into the woods, he finds an abandoned bomb shelter, where the two cozy up together... They have no food, but he finds some rainwater dribbling from the ceiling, so they just lick that shit off the wall I guess.

Ariake is still stressed, so Oosaki does everything in his power to look after his sweet innocent baby princess Ariake. However, he even startles from his sleep, paranoid that the others are coming after them... Luckily, he's just hallucinating and that's not happening. After talking a bit, the two finally open up more to each other, and Ariake confesses that he did kill his wife. Sort of. Because she committed suicide... but he lowkey drove her to it, because it turns out he married her because he's attracted to that wistful vibe that suicidal women give off. Excuse me? So apparently, he just did nothing to try to help her and let her kill herself... supposedly. And he's guilty of her murder because of his character... geez. Oosaki of course is like no that's not your fault though you're a good sweet innocent cute pretty nice young man.

Anyways, he gives more backstory of why he's like this. Apparently Ariake grew up extremely unloved by his mother, to the point that she'd keep him in a cage?? I'm not sure if he meant literally or figuratively, but regardless, she controlled ever aspect of his life, including how often he could go piss, and did not let him go anywhere outside except school. He used to live more freely, but after his father died, everything went to complete shit. It seems she hated him for not resembling his father... since she treated his sister just fine. As soon as he was of age, he ran away from home and never looked back. But even so, he still misses his family... for some reason... He hopes to see his sister again someday and misses her dearly...

Being a nosey bitch, Ariake tries to pry Oosaki's tragic backstory out of him. It turns out Oosaki was an incest baby, born between his mother and his older brother while her husband was conscripted to fight in the war. Rather than abort him however, she carried him to term... before she and his brother killed themselves after his birth. He was then taken in by his grandmother and raised by her. He loved grandma dearly, but being a strange child who couldn't understand right from wrong, one day he mugged another kid and stole a box of caramel from him in order to gift it to grandma. After learning the truth, grandma was so distraught she had a complete breakdown. That's wild. Anyways, it's funny because Ariake tries to comfort him by just being like "Well, incest may be morally abhorrent but it's not like it's illegal or anything so..." YOU'RE NOT HELPING??

Anyways, this incident made Oosaki hate caramel, and also instilled in him a desperation to never do the 'wrong thing'. Oosaki himself feels super inhuman, and everything he does he's just emulating what he thinks humans should do... he's truly a monster born of an inhuman incestuous union... Ariake comforts him, and lets him know that he's a good person. In fact, he insists on having Oosaki blame any wrongs he does on Ariake... Ariake wants to accept the burdens and weight of his worries...

Also, I don't remember when this came out, but at some point Oosaki reveals that he wants to survive mostly so his boss Shinkiba won't be sad. He really has no other meaning to live... it turns out, after seeing his family registry when he turned 18 and learning he was an incest baby, he tried to throw himself into the train tracks before being stopped by Shinkiba. Shinkiba than adopted him as his son and took care of him... so his legal name is actually SHINKIBA! He still goes by Oosaki though as nobody besides him and dad know this truth... And now Ariake I guess. Ariake is a miserable jealous fuck hearing this, since he'd rather Oosaki only live for him but whatever. Anyways.

After finding some new conviction to do some BAD, Oosaki decides to heads out in the dark to procure food so he can feed his sweet princess. Of course Ariake's just like WAHHH IT'S DANGEROUS DON'T GO!! WAH WAH WAH TT__TT but sadly that's not stopping Oosaki. For food, he targets Shinbashi's personal food stash he'd been hoarding this entire time. Shinbashi's wits are nothing compared to a clearheaded detective Oosaki's deductions, so he immediately finds his stash hidden inside the well in Mikazuki's yard. Shinbashi had always lurked around there, so it was obvious he was protecting something. Still having a bit of morals left in him, he only takes some of the food. Not all. Though the act of stealing in itself still causes him to break out in a cold sweat. Still... he has to do this to feed Ariake...

Upon returning, Ariake is mad as fuck that he didn't take ALL of Shinbashi's food, and only SOME OF IT! Since that evil bitch Shinbashi obviously doesn't deserve his hoard... Oosaki is way too easy to let him keep it... Oosaki is taken aback, but he knows sweet sweet Ariake is just on edge from all the shit that's happened lately. Ariake soon apologizes for being so nasty, crying all like "omg I'm soo bad I wish I could be as good as you but I'm just such a bad person wahh TT__TT" like okay I get it SHUT UP!

The next morning, the food they just stole is MISSING. What remains is a note that appears to be ripped from Shiodome's notebook.. written in hiragana is "give me everything"... SUS! Oosaki concludes that Shiodome is still out there and took the goods. He knows their location... so the two run further into the woods to find that dastardly college student. Oosaki finally finds the will to KILL. He's gonna KILL THAT KID... HOW DARE HE SPOOK ARIAKE... Finding more abandoned military structures deep in the forest, Ariake finds another note... Honestly I forgot what it said, but what's important is that Oosaki uses it to deduce that there's a second person there besides Shiodome. Because he had been told Shiodome back on day 1 that his notebook was full of notes written by his PROFESSOR. And the hiragana messages written on these notes... were in the same handwriting as the notes... SO THE PROFESSOR MUST BE HERE!!!

Yeah, I know what you're thinking... that doesn't make any fucking sense. Of course Shiodome's professor isn't fucking here. But Oosaki isn't clearheaded right now. He decides the only way to lure out Shiodome and his supposed phantom teammate is to get more food to make a trade. He has no choice but to run back to steal the rest of Shinbashi's food. After finding a safe spot in an old viewtower of sorts, Ariake wishes him good luck and lets him go...

Mikazuki is still silent when he gets there, and the secret box of food is still in the well... Upon retrieving it, he finds that the contents have been replaced with ROCKS! IT'S A TRAP... Shinbashi comes out with his gun, and Shijyoumae appears as well. They question why he'd come back to the scene of the crime so soon, and he tells them that he needs it to strike a deal with Shiodome. Shinbashi scoffs... since Shiodome has already been found dead. What could this mean?

Unsure what to do, Oosaki easily escapes two literally armed men even though he's barehanded because he just outclasses them I guess. During his grand escape, Aomi also has a gun, and tells him to suspect Ariake more, since nobody else amongst them could have killed Shiodome. Shiodome had been found locked inside of a box inside a storage shed... and there were no signs of struggle... He simply sat there until he died. There was only one person he would trust... the person who let him escape from Yaegaki. Aomi tells Oosaki to be careful if he intends to keep trusting Ariake... Anyways unlike Shinbashi, Aomi clearly is better at handling a gun, and he's hot while doing it too. Still, Oosaki escapes.

Back at their hiding spot, Oosaki breaks down. He feels horrible for suspecting Ariake, and tells him that all the evidence seem to really point at him as the culprit. Is Ariake lying to him? Ariake's just like "Even if I was that's not your fault... you know I love you Oosaki-san... <3" Err.... Anyways, Ariake smooches him to show how serious his homosexuality is and they engage in making out.

Oosaki abruptly confesses that his grandma had killed herself the day after he stole those caramels. The next morning, air sirens blared as another bomb warning rang throughout the city. Oosaki tried to find his grandmother, but instead found her setting herself on fire inside the shed outside their home... He is convinced that realizing he was just an animal born from dirty incest and knowing that blood ran in their family veins drove grandma to suicide. He burned his palms trying to grab onto her...

In response, Ariake reveals that the person Oosaki mugged for caramel ten years ago was actually HIM! He was on the way home from delivering something for his father, and he received that box of caramels as a gift... When a younger bald child came up and stared at him, he couldn't help but give him his seductive smile... resulting in bald Oosaki beating him for candy. Ever since... he had fallen in love with that bald child... and he longed to be pummeled by him again... Ariake actually recognized Oosaki at first sight, knowing he wasn't Shizuma from the very start. He clung to him because he's been in love with him for ten years.

Ariake looking up at Oosaki, clearly emotional with flushed cheeks and happy tears in his eyes as he smiles and reaches out towards him
Ariake being lovey dovey or whatever

I... huh? What... err.... okay. That's scary... Ariake also insists that Oosaki chose to beat him because he had also fallen for Ariake... "Didn't you want to ravage me like this back then too??? I bet you did..." And Oosaki's like... maybe I did... NO YOU DIDN'T YOU WERE LIKE 10 YEARS OLD??? ARIAKE IS JUST PUTTING IDEAS IN YOUR HEAD??

Anyways, Ariake immediately starts stripping like a prostitute (like caressing his own nipples and biting his lip and everything) and goads Oosaki into jumping him. Oosaki loses any semblance of self control and ravages Ariake like a fucking animal, NO foreplay included. His meaty rod just immediately stands up and he shoves it in like a dry piston. There's even a literal shot of just the sihlouette of his ginormous dick... scary... Luckily, Ariake is actually a masochist so he doesn't mind. He was NOT kidding about fantasizing about being beat on again. On another note, fucking Ariake makes Oosaki wonder if his brotherfather had assaulted his mother this animalistically... maybe his bestialness was hereditary... bruh...

Anyways, after fucking Ariake's brains out, Oosaki finds the resolve to dedicate himself to his new boyfriend. Ariake hands him a knife that he'd been keeping in his cast for 'self-defense', and tells him that he has no need to feel guilty since Ariake gonna be responsible for him from now on. However, Oosaki is a PROVIDER, so he yeets the knife into the woods. No matter what happens, he will leave NOTHING that can pin ANYTHING to Ariake. It's all on HIM.

With just himself and his two fists, he proceeds to walk into town where he beats poor sweet Shinbashi to death before coating his body with diesel and setting it ablaze. He then heads to Yaegaki and axes Shijyoumae a question... or two... just kidding. He just axes him. He finds Aomi on the second floor, where he strangles him over the banister. Aomi doesn't seem perterbed at all, and is just like okay I guess. And HE LOOKS SEXY WHILE HE'S BEING STRANGLED TOO!! DAMN!

Aomi getting strangled by Oosaki, but his face is still cute. His brows are knitted and it looks like he's almost pouting
I'm so jealous of Oosaki rn

Oosaki wrings his little slim neck and then flings him from the second floor. Surprisingly, Aomi still has the strength to fire a bullet into Oosaki's shoulder just as he tries to leave, but upon turning, Aomi is already dead... The flames have already spread throughout the building and lick at his heels as he descends to the pier, where his beautiful boyfriend is waiting for him. By this point, the whole town seems engulfed in fire. It's like a beautiful backdrop behind the calm Ariake, who sits quietly as he smokes with his right hand. Yes, the broken one. SINCE HE WAS FAKING IT!!! HE'S A LYING FUCKING SNAKE... though that was like obvious by this point.

Anyways yeah, Ariake basically confesses to having done everything. He's the one who set Shiodome free, on the condition that he do some snooping and invitation swiping for him. However, after Shiodome only cut off Funode's head isntead, it pissed Ariake off so much that he locked him the the box in the shed, telling Shiodome to stay quiet and that he'd be back for him. Obviously he never went back... what a bitch... He also did all that pretending Shiodome stole their food shit, and all the fake crying to get Oosaki to do what he wanted... but we all already knew by now he's a sneak like that.

Ariake smoking a cig with his right hand, smirking slightly in the darkness with only the burning fires and his cig light as a light source
Ariake reveals his arm is not broken

Oosaki finally collapses from having been literally just shot, and Ariake cradles him in his arms. It seems the fire was big enough to catch the attention of the authorites, so a boat has finally come to Ooe Island. So all they needed all along was FIRE!!!! And on the rescue ship... is SHINKIBA!! OOSAKI'S DADDY!! He cries happy tears as he finds Oosaki... though also sad tears since he's DYING FROM BLOODLOSS?? Ariake however gets pissed off that Oosaki keeps looking at Shinkiba, so he literally blocks his view with his head. Okay...

Before passing out, Oosaki whispers to Ariake, "I'm... gonna kill you..." If anyone will put this criminal to justice... it will be Oosaki... since he's in LOVE with him... It's the least he can do.

He's put in a literal coma for almost a year before finally waking up to Shinkiba and his other coworker who I never mentioned previously. They're soo happy to see him okay... Oosaki soon returns to his regular everyday life, and finds that Shinkiba had changed their company name and done everything to prevent Ariake from finding him. Seems Oosaki's final words spooked the bejeebuz out of Shinkiba, who did everything in his power to protect his son from that vile homewrecker. He also learns that apparently he and Ariake were the only people found alive on the island. Hinode and Toyosu had gone completely missing, while Aomi, Shinjyoumae, and Shinbashi were all found dead around the village. Also, the boat guy Komuse was found to have 'killed himself' so that's why he never came back... sure... Concerning to say the least.

As he does every year, Oosaki visits his grandma's grave... where he then bumps into DAIBA SHIZUMA! Shizuma reveals that after Oosaki left to Ooe, his father's legal guy appeared with his real will... on it, it stated "your crimes have been mixed with others... remove everyone who knows of it and everything is yours" essentially. After investigating, it seems whoever this was about is already dead so Shizuma got the whole company! He then immediately sold it and used his fat retirement check to live a freewheeling life of oil painting and vibing. I am so jealous.

Oosaki is just generally pissed as fuck to see him. He's just like "we signed a no contact agreement", but sadly Shizuma doesn't give a single fuck. You know why? Because he's now going by his mother's maiden name. He's no longer Daiba Shizuma but Hama Shizuma, so the agreement is no longer effective! Funny! Oosaki tells him to piss off and leaves even while Shizuma begs him to hang out so they can be besties.

Jobless Shizuma jumpscare

Some time later, Oosaki's agency receives a strange request from an Oosaki to investigate the clients wife for signs of betrayal... Oosaki goes behind Shinkiba's back, and of course the client is actually ARIAKE!!! Apparently he's on his third wife, having driven a second one to suicide while Oosaki was comatose. He's back at it again boys... Oosaki had actually done a deepdive into Ariake's life, and he is a lot more guilty than he previously let on. Both his first and second wife had drowned in his villa bathtub... though there was evidence in the second death that he had held her down under the water. There's no telling he didn't do the same in the first. The proof was that the water had turned red in the second death, due to the wound on Ariake's arm having reopened... Oosaki seems very on the fence on what to do, before leaving abruptly, though Ariake chases him down.

Ariake yells how much he could never forget Oosaki... He tells him how he never slept with his new wifes since could never sleep with a woman after having been ravaged by the real man of his dreams... and that he CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT OOSAKI!!!! HE LOVES HIM!!!! He tells Oosaki the morbid truth... how his obsession with suicide stems from how his father was completely disabled after the war, and was incapable of living without assistance from Ariake's mother. However one day, he was choking on some bread, but shook his head when Ariake went to get help... and so he let his father choke to death right before his eyes... Yet even though dying, he seemed more at peace than he ever did while disabled... This is why his mom hates him... and this why Ariake became obsessed with letting the suicidal die... because there's true peace in death... and a beauty in letting people go... die... I guess... I don't fucking know. Anyways, Oosaki decides to accept Ariake... Though in his heart, what he truly decides on is that he's gonna finally put this wifekiller down for good. In a double suicide!! Yippee!!

Ariake pulling on Oosaki's hand with a pleasant blue sky as the backdrop
Happy couple go off to hopefully commit double suicide

They go back to Ariake's villa and actually fuck crazy throughout the whole house before fucking in The Wifekilling Tub. Oosaki attempts to let him know how it feels to be drowned in a bathtub, before Ariake desperately confesses how he made up the whole third wife thing and that he's done with wifekilling for good. He made up the third wife because he knew the only way to make a diligent man like Oosaki come was if he thought another person's life was in danger... He then insists that Oosaki should stay alive to make sure he doesn't remarry again... and how remarriage is impossible as long as he's being fucked by Oosaki... wink! Being a dumb fuck, Oosaki decides to get swayed by his horny words, and commits to a life of seeing this sick fuck behind papa's back.

THE END!

Anyways extra notes: I can't remember where it comes up, but Ariake has hyperthyroidism that he attributes to malnourishment in his childhood.

ARIAKE ALTERNATE ENDING

Okay, so the story actually branches when Ariake seduces Oosaki. Oosaki decides to restrain himself, since he'd rather have their special intimate moment in somewhere that's NOT A DILAPIDATED ABANDONED BUILDING ON MURDER SUS AMOGUS ISLAND!!! Ariake sadly complies and the two end up just hugging and waiting it out. The lack of brainwashing from Ariake sex helps Oosaki calmly decide to not go around KILLING EVERYONE!!! BECAUSE WHY WOULD HE DO THAT! After waiting for what feels like eternity, miraculously, help actually arrives. A rescue party ACTUALLY comes to the island with papa Shinkiba at the lead. While Oosaki is still lucid, Ariake is on death's door from starvation...

Oosaki and Ariake lying on the floor in a sweet sexless embrace
Oosaki hugging Ariake instead of fucking his brains out

The two are admitted to a hospital, but Ariake vanishes as soon as he's discharged without letting Oosaki know where he went... Oosaki spends a lot of time hunting him down, before finally finding him at a funeral. Seems he's now working as a mortician rather than the crematorium. They talk a bit and Ariake seems strangely evasive... still, he ends up leading Oosaki to his humble abode... Oosaki paints the view from his porch before handing it to him... and of course... this whole time Oosaki was just on the edge of his seat waiting for any kind of sign from Ariake saying it was okay to FUCK!!!!!! As soon as he invites Oosaki inside, he jumps him and they fuck on Ariake's bed. Passionately. In this timeline, Ariake did not have the chance to kill a second wife, and they both are generally more well adjusted than the previous one. Oosaki has fallen deeply for Ariake and he's never gonna let him go again...

What is most insane though is Ariake gets a glistening HOLE SHOT CG... I... anyways. I'm not showing that, buy the game yourself to see Ariake hole.

MOVING ON!

SHINBASHI ROUTE

Everything is the same until the part where Oosaki goes with Takeshiba to serve tea. He abruptly decides to invite Shinbashi to help too! Since he'd love to get to know him better! Shinbashi is immediately on guard... and decides to comply, which surprises everyone.

Once again, tea is poured and then served in the same exact order. Yet Takeshiba does not fall ill... instead, Ariake suddenly tarts coughing and calls for the doctor!! Shijyoumae attends to him and Oosaki is very worried, but luckily, he's totally fine. Was it really poison...? Or just fatigue...? Ariake immediately accuses Shinbashi of poisoning him, saying that he saw him going into the kitchen earlier that day. Shinbashi scoffs, and happily lets them examine his things, but not before making Oosaki promise to making a bet on it. If there's nothing suspicious amidst Shinbashi's things, Oosaki will willingly swing to the next island over for help! Because the current pushes towards Ooe, that's just a literal death sentence. For some reason, Oosaki accepts.

Oosaki takes Shinbashi into a private room where he strips him down to his underwear. There's nothing suspicious on him, however he does discover a portrait locket... Inside, is an old picture of a woman wearing a wave patterened kimono... Shinbashi immediately gets all defensive over it, so Oosaki returns it to him. Regardless, no poison was found!

Shinbashi is about to gloat, when against his predictions, Oosaki insists that since he's betting his life on it, he should be allowed to search Shinbashi's room at Mikazuki as well! Suddenly Shinbashi gets quiet... very curious! Oosaki heads to Mikazuki with just Shinbashi and Takeshiba, before immediately finding Shinbashi's hidden box in the well. They take it back to Shinbashi's room to investigate, and of course the secret food is revealed.. and it's all canned salmon. Is he a cat... Anyways, hidden amidst the cans is a vial of white powder! Curious! Oosaki decides to test for poison by pouring it into a cup to drink. Takeshiba's just like are you actually gonna ingest that what the fuck... and right before Oosaki downs the concoction, Shinbashi slaps that shit out of his hand.

The room goes silent. Shinbashi doesn't say a word... Oosaki concludes that it was very much poison. Shinbashi finally confesses that yes! The powder is ARSENIC. Whoever ingests it would just die miserably and painfully within minutes. He completely opens up that he was targetting Oosaki because he was convinced he was really Daiba Shizuma, and maliciously hiding Shinbashi's charges. But after being invited to the kitchen, he thought that Oosaki had seen through his murder attempt, so he discretely disposed of the poisoned cup when he had the chance... So no, Ariake was not poisoned. He's just a fucking liar!

Takeshiba is shookened... but Oosaki is a lot calmer about it. Since he was the target and nobody else, he tells Shinbashi that he will overlook this crime. It's better if everyone gets along after all. He'd keep the salmon a secret as well, since clearly it belonged to Shinbashi. It wouldn't be fair to confiscate it. Takeshiba is flabbergasted. Why are they letting someone malicious like this off the hook??? AND not taking his food??? How does any of that make sense. But Oosaki insists... Oosaki believes that Shinbashi now regrets his actions and won't do it again. But of course he's probably reading Ariake wrong, since how could someone so sweet be such a liar? Surely he just has fatigue and paranoia. Like... right... sure...

Shinbashi is left feeling extremely troubled. He's so malicious towards Oosaki and yet, all that Oosaki returns it... whatever the fuck this is... Regardless, after Shinbashi places his food collection in his closet, the team returns to the inn. He tells everyone that while there was no poison, Shinbashi has rescinded his terms of forcing Oosaki to swim. Ariake gets defensive, suddenly acting like Oosaki is cheating on him with Shinbashi. Like, why is he defending him!? Oosaki of course just says that it's not that he's defending anyone, he's just being fair...

Takeshiba has enough of Oosaki's shit and immediately tells everyone that Shinbashi DID have poison. And that he has a ton of FOOD too! Oosaki is just being TOO NICE!! And they should TIE UP SHINBASHI AND TAKE HIS FOOD!! While initially shocked by this revelation, everyone agrees to steal Shinbashi's food and they tie him up. However, Ariake is SUPER pissed that Oosaki LIED to him, all to protect that... THIEVING CAT!!! GRRR!! Like... who the fuck do you think you are you're not Oosaki's boyfriend... not anymore. 😏 Anyways, Ariake gets in a catfight with Shinbashi and claws his eyepatch off while screaming about how this bitch tried to poison him (even though we all know this lying snake is making that shit up), then laughing and insulting Shinbashi's ugly little secret... why is he so fucking rude. Either way, we are not allowed to see what was hidden behind Shinbashi's eyepatch, since his hair is long enough to just cover it.

Oosaki comes to terms with the change of scenario and volunteers to keep watch of him, since he feels like he must take responsibility for damaging everyone's trust with his little lie. The two coop up in the kitchen while Takeshiba and Aomi head to Mikazuki to steal Shinbashi's hoard. Ariake continues to throw a fit but it seems to have little effect on Oosaki.

Shinbashi with his hands tied behind his back. He sits in the corner and smirks at the viewer ominously, albeit cutely
He is so cute

Shinbashi seems docile at first, so Oosaki takes the opportunity to ask him if he can see his locket again. The woman in the portrait seemed so familiar... Shinbashi obviously refuses, but the pendant than falls out of his pocket. He's like "oh whoopsie! Can you put that back in my pocket, but without looking of course, Mr. Detective." Oosaki is a good law abiding person, so he obediently gives him the pendant back without looking. However, in that brief moment where his guard was lowered, Shinbashi slips out of his restraints and makes a mad dash into the rain to abscond from captivity. It's apparent that when he was tied up, he'd kept his wrists held in a way that would allow him to get out of it. Oosaki chases him down all the way to the temple stairs, before Shinbashi pulls a gun on him and threatens to fire. However, Oosaki fearlessly walks up and grabs the gun right out of his hand... "You forgot to take the safety on. Here, this is how you handle a gun to fire it." Oosaki takes the safety on and then presents the gun back to Shinbashi, handle first. Shinbashi is just... he has no words. What could he possibly say... what is wrong with Oosaki.

His defiant attitude seems to just completely disappear, so Oosaki tells him that he wants to collaborate. He believes that he can already see what kind of person Shinbashi is: a coward with a persecution complex. He thinks the whole world's against him, and he faces it all like a COWARD! But it's because of this personality that Oosaki can whole heartedly believe that Shinbashi isn't the mastermind. And he's definitely clever, so it would be better to work together. He promises Shinbashi freedom under his watchful protection, hidden under the guise of captivity. It would be a secret just between the two of them while they try to sus out who amongst their group is the real mastermind...

Shinbashi is somewhat flabbergasted. How could Oosaki possibly trust him? To which Oosaki tells him, he can't trust him. But he CAN trust... what kind of person he is. Okay......... Again, Oosaki asks Shinbashi if he would like to cooperate with him and after sometime Shinbashi finally seems convinced and gives a little nod.

He quietly follows Oosaki back to the inn, and on the way starts to finally be a little honest with Oosaki. He says that he thinks the mastermind must have set this up to specifically kill him, because his sin has something to do with Ooe An. Unfortunately, he refuses to give any more details when asked, so Oosaki decides to leave it for now. Is the mastermind really doing this as some kind of vengeance for Ooe An...? Much to think about. Either way, Shinbashi is a lot more awkward and compliant than before, which is cute.

Oosaki reapplies the restraints on Shinbashi's hands, albeit loosely so that he can escape any time. Though he also adds on a rope of sort that he can hold onto, so that it looks like Shinbashi's leashed and Oosaki's holding his chain... He's not happy about it obviously, but Oosaki insists that this image of further restraint would lessen everyone's suspicion of them secretly collaborating. It's for the best if everyone still believes them to be on poor terms. In the end Shinbashi doesn't complain and goes along with it.

Anyways, when some people come to check on them, they question why Oosaki and Shinbashi are wet... Oosaki convinces everyone there was no problem, as he could evidently easily capture Shinbashi if need be. Noting his leash, nobody thinks to question it. On another note, the team is concerned that Takeshiba and Aomi never returned, so Oosaki decides to investigate alongside Shijyoumae, leashed Shinbashi in tow. As an assurance to prove that Shinbashi won't run away, Oosaki confiscates his precious portrait locket before putting it in Hinode's hands. Shinbashi glares at him before saying in a sweet voice, that Hinode had better take VERY good care of that locket.

At Mikazuki, they find Takeshiba collapsed in the hall! On checking, he's still alive... but they do find Aomi's smashed glasses nearby... Takeshiba wakes up and starts babbling nonsense, saying that some kind of mystery figure attacked them and kidnapped Aomi! The squad is flabbergasted... and then look up... and see... someone with a sheet covering their body... holding a knife... at the end of the hall... Spooky... Oosaki tries to chase after it, but Shinbashi's still tied to him and quickly loses stamina since he's a skinny twink. The cloaked figure vanishes into the forest... With nothing else they can do, everyone returns to Yaegaki with Takeshiba who's crying and wibbling in shock and fear the entire way.

Upon reporting the circumstances, obviously everyone is concerned and they immediately seem to agree that this mystery figure must be the elusive and malicious secret missing host. Also, it turns out the team forgot to actually look for Shinbashi's food stash. Whoops! Oosaki volunteers to go back with Shinbashi, and so Hinode is made to continue keeping an eye on his locket. Ariake insists on coming along though, since he'd rather die than let these two be alone together.

When arriving at Shinbashi's room, it's notably not ransacked. Nothing was touched except for the box of food, which is now evidently missing from the closet. Funnily enough, Shinbashi had hidden food in his futon as well, yet the thief had overlooked such an obvious thing... Meanwhile, only Oosaki, Shinbashi, and Takeshiba were present to see where the box of food was placed... hmm... curious!

Anyways, Ariake and Shinbashi start arguing, as Ariake of course has a lot of mean things to say about Shinbashi. Shinbashi in return starts insulting Ariake, claiming that he's a manipulative heartless person, since only someone callous could take advantage of others' emotions to incite them against their enemies.. Ariake's obviously offended, so Oosaki is forced to intervene. Since Ariake is still throwing a fit about Oosaki chumming it up with Shinbashi, Oosaki insists that he still cares for Ariake more, and how he's just keeping a hold of Shinbashi for safety purposes... LIAR!!! Still, his sweet lies completely placate Ariake. Meanwhile, he tells Shinbashi to try to tone down the bitchiness.

They're just so cute together I'm biased

They return to Yaegaki with the bad news, and again everyone decides to sleep in one room together for safety purposes. That night, Takeshiba continues to wibble and cry, mentioning how the spooky malicious host had said "one by one... one by one..." after kidnapping Aomi.... so they must be trying to KILL THEM ALL.. ONE BY ONE...!! SCARY!

Eventually morning breaks, and Shinbashi suddenly gets up, telling Oosaki he wants water. The two leave to head to the kitchen, and Takeshiba tries to come with before once again turning into a tearful quibbling mess. He's so hung up over Aomi's disappearance... weh weh weh. Leaving without him, the two are surprised to find Shiodome's decapitated head staring up at them from the first floor lobby. Now how did that get there...

As others notice the odd change in atmosphere, they come out and are shooked to see the frightening sight. The squad heads to the indoor baths, only to find what they expected. The rest of Shiodome, body hanging halfway into a tub with his neck leaking blood into the drain. Who could have done this. They talk a bit about who was active last night, and apparently Takeshiba, Toyosu, and Shijyoumae had gone to the restroom together at some point. Shijyoumae insists that they heard Shiodome's laughing voice at the time, so he must have been murdered in the early morning perhaps... But how did the killer get in...? Shijyoumae claims they must have broken through the door connected to the outside! He quickly locks the door shut before leaving with the rest of the group back to the main hall. Still.. if the door was broken... why does the lock still work...? Apparently this door is a twist lock that can only be opened from the inside... so if the door was broken through... the lock shouldn't work anymore... Everyone returns to the hall except Shinbashi and Oosaki, who stay behind to discuss their thoughts...

The two discuss who the most likely culprits are, and it seems evident enough that the culprit must be amongst them. There were no signs of foot prints outside or mud indoors, so the culprit must have left the door unlocked on purpose to make it appear as if they'd absconded to the outdoors. The most likely suspects had to be among the three that went to piss together. Though Shinbashi suggests... that all three worked together to commit the crime.

Shinbashi suggests they make some sort of signal to communicate discretely while amongst the group. He decides that when he does a slow blink, Oosaki most obediently follow his lead. Oosaki agrees.

Once they reunite with the group, it's immediately clear that something strange is afoot. Shiodome's head had been wrapped with cloth, and the three suspects were now clamoring about holding a little funeral and taking his head to the shrine. Oosaki is left completely flabbergasted. It wasn't just disturbing the crime scene, this was just... strange. However, he then sees Shinbashi do his funny little slow blink. He quietly obeys...

They march in the rain towards the temple while Toyosu chants some prayers for Shiodome's soul... it's still weird as fuck, but regardless, they reach the stairs and see that sheet covered figure once more. Oosaki breaks into a sprint to chase after them, but upon reaching the top of the stairs, the figure is gone... and Shinbashi is panting heavily behind him from the sprinting... funny. The squad leaves Shiodome's head on the temple altar and head back to the inn.

Oosaki, Shinbashi, Takeshiba, Shijyoumae, and Toyosu are seen from the back as they walk in the rain.
walking in da rain

They can't help but wonder... the culprit could have killed more, but simply only took Aomi... and now Shiodome... are they really killing them one by one? Ariake's on the brink of an emotional break down, seeing as how hopeless their situation is... but then Shinbashi mentions that there is a hidden boat on this island. Everybody's attention perks up... and then he does his strange little blink at Oosaki again. What is he plotting...?

According to him, before everyone headed to the island, Shinbashi had actually staked the area out and watched them all head over. And the first person he saw cross over was the servant, Funeno... in his own big fishing boat... it was large enough to carry multiple people... and he headed towards the back of the island... that's where it must be hidden! At the forgotten second port at the opposite side of the island!

Everyone obviously doubts his claims, but he proves he was staking the area out by reciting the exact hours when everyone headed to Ooe Island. The group is then convinced... Shinbashi says that he hid this information until now because everyone was just so sus until now, which makes sense. I mean they are still sus.

Shijyoumae asks that Oosaki allow him to take charge of Funeno's keys, which includes the key to his boat, but Oosaki doesn't want to hand it over... why? Obviously because THE CULPRIT IS STILL AMONG THEM!!! Oosaki then reveals his deductive prowess... that the ghostly sheet covered culprit who has been stalking them thus far was obviously Aomi, and that he and Takeshiba were collaborating. The proof is in how the culprit clearly knew where Shinbashi's food was stored in advance. Also, when Takeshiba was found unconscious in Mikazuki, he claimed to be struck from behind, yet he was facing the door where the culprit appeared... and also he had no wounds, even though he claimed to be knocked unsconscious. It's all quite obvious.

Shijyoumae immediately jumps to decry Takeshiba, agreeing that he's sus and completely throwing him under the bus. Takeshiba gets really offended, and abruptly accuses Shijyoumae of being THE ELUSIVE HOST AND THE REAL MASTERMIND! Apparently, he and Aomi faked that attack in order to draw out the host... since they assumed that the host would be the first person who would try to goad the team into thinning their numbers... and apparently... the night of Shiodome's beheading... it was Shijyoumae's idea to kill him as a supposed offering to quell the culprit's serial killings. Therefore... HE'S THE MASTERMIND!

Of course, this reveals that yes, the three suspects did in fact work together to decapitate Shiodome. It's all just spilling out. Takeshiba and Shijyoumae argue some more, before Takeshiba snaps and pulls out a knife. He then jumps at Shijyoumae, and Oosaki is about to intervene when Ariake holds him down... thus resulting in a blood stabbing frenzy leaving zero Shijyoumaes left alive. Damn.

He's so cute here lmao

Oosaki attempts to apprehend Takeshiba, but he grabs Hinode to use as a hostage. Then, the doors open up, revealing Aomi with a gun... Everyone is forced on their knees, and Aomi and Takeshiba dexteriously collaborate to tie everyone up in extremely constricting fashions. Aomi renders Oosaki uncomfortably unable to move... he would probably be really good at BDSM. Anyways, they then wrap them in potato sacks, before dumping them in the tub alongside Shiodome's headless body. Thinking it would be funny to let them waste away while tied up there miserably, the culprits leave without finishing them off, saying that they will at least look after Hinode since he's just a baby. I suppose they aren't COMPLETELY evil.

Gorgeus beautiful no longer bespectacled beauty

Toyosu and Ariake immediately breakdown and start laugh crying from delirious hopelessness, while Oosaki wonders how to rectify the situation. After a moment of hopeless despair, Shinbashi smoothly unties his hands before using his gun to destroy the rest of the rope tying him up and getting the sack off. This was all thanks to Oosaki's fake ass tying of Shinbashi's hands... Takeshiba and Aomi had no idea they were actually besties now, so they didn't bother retying what they thought was already tied up... and this has saved everyone's lives... Shinbashi then frees the rest of the party, before declaring that he has to go after Aomi so he can get his locket back from Hinode. Oosaki goes with him, leaving Ariake and Toyosu behind.

The two quietly move through the forest towards the backside of Ooe Island, passing through the old abandoned war station post parts of the island. Upon reaching a fork in the road, Oosaki simply tells Shinbashi that he trusts his judgement and will follow him, and even if he's wrong they can simply turn around. Again, Shinbashi is put off by Oosaki's seemingly unrelenting faith in him. It turns out his choice was correct, as they soon reach the bay. Of course, there's no hidden boat there.

From afar, they see Aomi shoot Takeshiba dead before aiming his gun at them, having noticed his pursuers. Suddenly, Hinode pushes himself out of Aomi's grasp and begins to fall into the sea... Oosaki instantly begins charging towards him, hearing a gunshot go off before reaching out to grab Hinode's hand. In Hinode's hand is Shinbashi's locket... and he passes it to Oosaki before letting go... disappearing into the black sea...  Either way, Oosaki ends up falling into the ocean with him anyways, and washes away while gripping desperately to the locket.

Even as the cold waves engulf him, he protects that locket that was so important to Shinbashi... He grips it so tightly in the hopes that even if he dies, the locket will remain safe in his grip... Luckily, he washes up alive back on the beach. Shinbashi quickly finds him, and sarcastically spits out that he'll give Oosaki a posthumous name based on the sea. Shinbashi tells Oosaki that Aomi actually shot himself for some reason, so that was the gunshot that Oosaki had heard. Who knows what his angle was... Shinbashi tries to talk more shit to Oosaki, and Oosaki wants to laugh, but lacks the energy to. Eventually tries to ask him something... When Shinbashi asks him what's up, there's a long moment of silence before Oosaki just says "nevermind." Bro is flabbergasted. In truth, Oosaki just wanted to tease him at the very end... before embracing the darkness... rip.

Just kidding, he wakes up again in one of the huts by the sea. Shinbashi had dragged him to one and stripped him naked of his sopping wet clothes before lighting a fire to keep them warm... He even took off his own shirt to have Oosaki lie on... wow... he's so nice... Seeing Shinbashi's nude upper half however, makes Oosaki concerned that Shinbashi's cold, so he gives the shirt back.

A vulnerable Shinbashi with his shirt off, clutching his knees and staring at the viewer
Imagine waking up to this

After getting a grasp of the situation, he realizes that Shinbashi really saved his life... he's alive... He can tell that Shinbashi must have performed CPR on him, though all Shinbashi says in response is "Well, if I didn't the police could charge me for negligence obviously..." HE'S TSUNDERE!!!!!!!!!!! Oosaki wonders if Shinbashi was disturbed by his burnt hands, but of course Shinbashi doesn't give a fuck about that... he himself has some burns on his back... In fact, Shinbashi is jealous of Oosaki's burns. Since Oosaki said his burns help remind him of someone he lost, but Shinbashi's last memory, the locket, is something he could easily loose. He'd much rather have a permanent wound instead, since then he wouldn't have to fret like this over one locket...

He opens up about himself, revealing that his locket portrait is of his grandmother. He loved her dearly and she took care of him after his parents split up. He had an older brother he'd grown up with, but his brother had sociopathic tendencies and while he smiled and acted cute before their parents, he enjoyed murdering small animals and torturing him for shits and giggles in secret, and even hanged Shinbashi's childood pet kitty. The marks on his back are scars left from that period. Oosaki tells Shinbashi to get some rest, and that he can take over night watch now that he's lucid. So they share a deep moment of tender silence before Shinbashi falls asleep.

The next morning, Oosaki goes out and looks around at where he'd lost Hinode, and where Aomi had died. There were of course no signs of either of them, as the waves had taken Aomi as well. He meets up with Shinbashi and the two continue to trade an understanding silence. Shinbashi then brings up how his grandmother was actually born on Ooe Island. He hates this place because his grandma didn't like it either. It sucks ass. Yet circumstances led to all this... The wave pattern on her kimono is from a fabric unique to Ooe Island... and Oosaki was reminded of his own grandmother from the portrait, because the one she wore when she set herself on fire was one and the same... hmm, very curious.

They return to where they left Ariake and Toyosu, only to find just Ariake. Apparently Toyosu had gone off to look for them, but never returned. Very strange. Ariake is visibly upset that Oosaki is clearly chummy with Shinbashi, but there's really nothing he can do at this point. The three of them head to where the real fishing boat is, and they decide to let Shinbashi maneuver it to the mainland. Ariake obviously doesn't trust him at all, and Oosaki assures him that even if Shinbashi's a bad guy, at least he would be here with Ariake to protect him from any dangers. This immediately placates Ariake. Dumbass.

Anyways, Shinbashi does make it to the mainland and a rescue boat soon arrives to take them all back. However, when reaching the other side of that sea, Shinbashi is nowhere to be seen...

According to the police report, after the obvious corpses, Toyosu, Hinode, and Aomi's body were never found. Shinbashi had used a fake name, so his status was unknown as well. Oosaki and Ariake made it out in one piece and then returned to their normal lives... but Oosaki could never forget Shinbashi.

A year passes and Oosaki now enjoys the leisurely hobby of seeing plays on his offtime with his coworker, who is a big fan. These plays always have happy endings, and are clearly written by someone with a lot of care in their heart. Upon returning him, he finds that Shizuma was waiting for him. In fact, Oosaki had called him over to meet 2 hours ago, but left him hanging this late out of sheer ill will. As an apology, he gives Shizuma a cheap cucumber roll with like nothing in it. However, being who he is, Shizuma is elated to receive anything from his dear brother <3 teehee. Urhg... anyways.

Oosaki had summoned him in order to obtain that original invitation and to see who's charges were in it. What he finds, is the charges of some random ass guy who had run over his pregnant wife... this was obviously not Shinbashi. Apparently, there really was an 11th guest, but he had killed himself by jumping in front of a train a month before the memorial service. In fact, it was the guy who stalled Oosaki's train in the prologue! Wow! The world is full of coincidences. Apparently this guy was the one who had received Shinbashi's charges, but he burned his whole house down before killing himself, so there was nothing left. Great.

Sometime later, Oosaki returns to his grandmother's grave, but this time he lingers while looking out at the horizon. Then surprise! SHINBASHI APPEARS... Could it be...? Shinbashi was the other person who tended to this grave... but why...? Could it be...? THEY HAVE THE SAME GRANDMA????

No, they don't. Sorry. It turns out, Shinbashi's grandmother was yuri lovers best friends with Oosaki's grandma, and the photo in the portrait was actually of Oosaki's grandmother. The two had a photo taken of them by a foreign traveler and received a copy, which they then cut in half and held onto the piece depicting each other. However, Oosaki's house blew the fuck up in the fires and bombings so... the half with Shinbashi's grandma is probably long gone. Shinbashi's grandma's last request was for him to keep visiting her bestie's grave in her place, so that's why he's been coming every year.

Anyways, Shinbashi is completely flabbergasted to see Oosaki, and actually tries to run away before being caught. They talk about the whole grandma thing, and Shinbashi is quite shocked at the whole revelation and how they'd actually had such a strange connection this entire time.. almost like its fate... So he decides to give the locket to Oosaki, since it should rightfully belong to him... but Oosaki does not want it.

Oosaki tells him that he mostly tracked him down to inform him of the situation with his charges. How they're no longer in this world... burnt away with that random guy's house. Shinbashi doesn't have to worry about that anymore... Oosaki then abruptly tries to turn and leave now that he's satisfied, but Shinbashi calls out to him and invites him to his house. It's apparently nearby...

The two go to Shinbashi's house, which contains TWO kitties. One is named Oosaki-san, while the other is named after Shinbashi's old teacher. Of course, this turns out to be a complete coincidence as Shinbashi had had this kitty since before meeting Oosaki. It amuses Oosaki since of course this means that Shinbashi was forced to be reminded of his cat back when he first learned Oosaki's name... teehee. Since it was raining a lot, Shinbashi provides Oosaki a change of clothes and lets him use his bath... and also offers him expensive cookies. Also, Oosaki comes to realize he's allergic to cats. Funny.

For whatever reason, Oosaki immediately tries to leave again, before telling Shinbashi that he has nothing to worry about anymore, since the only people left in this world who know of his sins is the two of them. Of course this sets Shinbashi off, and he grabs Oosaki before starting to go off about what the fuck Oosaki could possibly know about him.

Of course, Oosaki actually knows everything about Shinbashi. He's stalked him and dug info on him and knows every detail of his current life, like his current pen name and how he's the playwrite for the plays he now sees on his freetime. How these plays are full of happiness which proves how Shinbashi is a goodboy at his core etc etc.

These claims obviously upset Shinbashi, and he starts running his mouth about his supposed crime. It turns out, Shinbashi thinks his crime was writing the script that Ooe An committed her suicide based on. Apparently she had requested he wrote a story about death, and she then killed herself word for word exactly as he'd written in his script... and it's haunted him ever since! Of course, this was obviously not his crime since he did nothing wrong in that scenario.

Oosaki comforts him by letting him know that nobody cares if An killed herself to his script. Since Shinbashi's REAL crime was how he KILLED HIS OWN TWIN BROTHER YEARS AGO!

Shinbashi's like... oh yeah that happened huh... HOW WAS THAT NOT THE FIRST THING YOU THINK OF?? YOU KILLED YOUR BROTHER???

So of course it turns out his abusive brother was actually his twin. Shinbashi had lived quite happily after they were forced to live apart, but the two miraculously reunited in college. But what Shinbashi found absolutely unforgivable was how his brother had completely reformed into an upstanding, guiltless individual. He clearly just grew up and moved on, while Shinbashi was still haunted by the scars of his past. He could never forgive his brother... so he killed him, and framed it as a stage accident! Since his brother was actually an actor in their theater club. The incident was hushed up by his rich parents and he then moved on with his life. To this day, he still has no regrets about it because he really couldn't stand that bastard.

Also funnily enough, Shinbashi's real name... is Shinbashi Mei... and his brother's name... was also Mei. But spelled differently. Apparently their father thought it would be funny or something, and he intended to split them up from the beginning so he didn't bother to give them different names. That's crazy. Mei's a cute name though. Anyways, how was Shinbashi a fake name then if it's literally his real name... I guess using a different first name goes a long way.

Anyways, Shinbashi gets extremely defensive and is like omg you did all this research on me, do you really want to just torture me like this.. You go through all this trouble to harass me! Fucked up! And meanwhile Oosaki is just pinning him to the wall staring him down... WAKE THE FUCK UP, MEI. I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE THE RIGHT KIND OF HARASSMENT IN MIND. YOU'RE IN DANGER???

Ignoring everything Shinbashi's yelling about, Oosaki removes his eyepatch and gazes lovingly at his odd eye which keeps straying in a different direction from where he's trying to look. He's obviously self conscious about it, but to freaky ass Oosaki, it's beautiful and endearing... He smooches Shinbashi with a little peck before being like "okay, I better go" and tries to leave AGAIN! WHY!! Shinbashi of course is also upset, and grabs ahold of Oosaki.

Shinbashi's beautiful eyes...

WHY YOU ACT SO NONCHALANT DO YOU FLIRT LIKE THIS WITH EVERYBODY WHAT THE FUCK!!! Oosaki confesses that he has obviously never done that with anyone else, and he only kissed Shinbashi because he's in love with him. Shinbashi's left flabbergasted... how could that be... Oosaki... LIKE LIKES HIM??? NO FUCKING WAY!!! Overcome with temptation, Oosaki starts to make out with him before asking how Shinbashi feels about him. Of course Shinbashi's just like "Um I dunno... @///@ M-Maybe you should do that again so I can figure it out..." And then... he does his gay ass little slow blink. Bruh... Okay... I... I don't know what to say... HE'S MOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Oosaki hesitates, Shinbashi calls him a BAKA. This of course immediately leads to SEX. Oosaki takes him to the bedroom (after asking him where it is of course) and proceeds to ravage him, but not before asking if Oosaki the cat is a boy and if Shinbashi has seen him fucking other kitties. He wants to follow his namesake's example in the bedroom after all... What is wrong with you. Shinbashi is extremely bewildered by his line of questioning, but answers honestly... Anyways, it becomes very evident that well.. Shinbashi's a sheltered bashful virgin bride. His wealthy family raised him strictly and properly in regards to relationships, so he takes relationships very seriously... and thinks that since Oosaki confessed, that means he was also confessing his intent to marry him... he is so serious... Sadly, Oosaki has no idea that's how Shinbashi interpreted it.

Anyways, being the fuckhead he is, Oosaki tries to leave again after the sex. WHY DOES HE KEEP TRYING TO LEAVE??? Shinbashi immediately assumes that Oosaki is cheating on him with that scamp Ariake because why else did he just come here for sex and try to leave again. Oosaki tries to promise that this isn't the case, and that he just wants to stay in control so he doesn't snap and break Shinbashi with his beastly sex havingness or whatever the fuck. Shinbashi grabs his dick with his toes and gives him a footjob, which convinces Oosaki to stay. OKAY!????? HUH!??? F...FEET!? They fuck more of course, and every time Oosaki tries to restrain himself, Shinbashi gets really pissed off and questions if Oosaki actually likes him or if he's gonna run back to that fucking whore Ariake. WHAT DID ARIAKE DO TO YOU... Actually no.. I mean it's Ariake he's a fucking homewrecker. Oosaki clarifies that he's only friends with Ariake and they only hang out 'sometimes', which pisses Shinbashi off. "Haven't you seen the way that slut looks at you... thirsty man stealing bitch..." no he didn't say it like that exactly but it was something like that. Also they give each other blow jobs at some point but I already forgot the order of events honestly.

After fucking deep into the night, Oosaki again tries to leave while Shinbashi is incapacitated. Of course, Shinbashi wakes up to chase him to the door, and lends him an umbrella... He demands that Oosaki had better come back to return it, and that if he spends even ONE minute of his free time with some other WHORE or HOMEWRECKING SLUT, then he will find and KILL HIM! Oosaki happily tells him that it's the same for him... If Shinbashi ever cheats on him, Oosaki will kill both him and his kitties. He doesn't say the threat part out loud though. I mean that's kind of fucked up. Shinbashi takes animal abuse extremely seriously, so he probably would not be flattered. Anyways, Oosaki promises to return the following weekend before disappearing through the door...

THE END

I'm not sure if I could recount the escalating of their attachment to each other properly, but seeing Shinbashi slowly become attached to Oosaki is sooooo fuckinnggg CUTEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK... Urgh... Anyways.

AOMI ROUTE

This route branches off back on the day of the memorial service when the group splits up to look for another phone. For whatever reason, Oosaki takes notice of Aomi's chill vibes and decides to group up with him in the phone search. Ariake and some others tag along and they end up searching some houses in the village, finding a strange old photo of three young girls doing the see no evil hear no evil etc monkey poses... And in the background... a ghostly spooky man's face... Ariake shreeks, but Shinbashi points out that the ghostly face was drawn on as a prank. Goofy. They do find a phone in the house, but it is very much broken.

For whatever reason, when performing the bonfire ceremony that night, Shiodome does NOT swap Funeno's corpse with the human effigy this time, so everything concludes without any issues. The murder of Funeno remains unsovled as a supposed suicide, and the situation with the charges is also not clarified. This also results in Oosaki never revealing to anyone that he is not actually Daiba Shizuma, so they still believe that. Since Oosaki is still suspicious of the group, he suggests they all sleep together as a precaution. Nobody is cooperative, but Shiodome suggests they split their 9 into groups of 3, which should be a lot more palatable. They draw cards to determine rooms, and it becomes like so:

Oosaki, Aomi, Shiodome in one room, Shijyoumae, Toyosu, Hinode in another, and last is Shinbashi, Ariake, Takeshiba in the last one. Team Oosaki had originally intended to stay in Shiodome's room, but bro had vomit in there so they switched to Aomi's. It turns out that team Ariake is sleeping in the room directly above theirs.

Shiodome is annoying as fuck and won't shut the fuck up, but eventually calms down after asking Oosaki to tell him goodnight. Oosaki insists on keeping night watch, so he stays up the entire night while the other two sleep.

Shiodome looking distressed while sticking his tongue out a little
Random Shiodome I just think this expression funy

The next day, the boat doesn't come of course. The group's guard is down lower than ever, and just like in the other routes they all split to search for food. This time, Shiodome accompanies Oosaki and his team to investigate Mikazuki. Funnily enought, the secret storage of food that Oosaki finds in the other route... is not here. There is no food, but Shiodome does find a stash of beer. Concerning. Strangely enough, while the group is dissapointed at the lack of food found, they are quite elated by the presence of beer.

That night, they all end up gathering in a room and having a fucking drinking party. Most of them are drinking alcohol, but Toyosu, Oosaki, Aomi, and Hinode have tea instead. Even Shinbashi of all people opts to have some beer... Shinjyoumae tells some bizarre ass story he heard about a musician who would poison cats, but also cared for his neighbor's cats. What is the punchline? He doesn't remember, so he asks the group. Shinbashi of course immediately hates the story because he hates even imagining cat abuse. Aomi finishes the story, by explaining that the musician was trying to annihilate the local female stray population because shamisens were made from female cat bellies. Apparently this was in an attempt to lower the shamisen market in order to allow for the rise of the piano market. And apparently, this was a true story of something Aomi himself did. Everybody is flabbergasted. Oosaki has a hard time believing someone as cool and beautiful as Aomi would do something so... bizarre and deranged. Very strange.

The lights also all turn off abruptly like in the other routes, but everybody laughs it off for the most part. Aomi also dexteriously repairs the engine thingy and restores power to the building... why didn't he do that in the other routes.

Anyways, the chilling continues and it turns out Shinbashi is a total light weight, so he quickly returns to his room to sleep. Ariake gets totally fucked up, so Oosaki drags him to his room with Takeshiba and puts him to bed. Ariake then drunkingly whispers to him, "when will you rememeber me? I know you're not Daiba..." but he passes out before Oosaki can question him. Oosaki is very disturbed by this, since he has no recollection of meeting Ariake before. Regardless, there is nothing he can do. He returns to the party.

The people who hold out the longest are Shiodome and Shijyoumae, who just keep drinking. Aomi remains completely sober, while Hinode falls asleep in the corner. Oosaki tries to drink his tea, but accidentally ingests some alcohol... apparently Aomi had poured some and Oosaki took his cup by mistake... Ruh roh. Anyways, Shiodome jumps Oosaki at some point which is a little weird, but he's just fooling I think... They then go to the bathroom, and Shiodome reveals to Oosaki that there is actually a hidden torture dungeon beneath the changing room. HUH??? They go down there, and find the dilapidated corpse of a man from the mainland. Shiodome theorizes that this was a dungeon to make examples of male guests who couldn't follow the rules of the brothels here. Oosaki can't help but recall the photo of the three girls smiling while doing those monkey poses...

The party comes to a close and everybody remaining returns to their rooms. Aomi suggests staying up to make up for Oosaki staying up the night before. Shiodome also volunteers to do so. Oosaki is suddenly consumed by a heavy sleepiness and passes the fuck out.

The next morning, he is woken up by Takeshiba's quibbling wibbly cries. What is going on... Shiodome and Aomi leave the room, and before Oosaki follows them, he finds a long bloody knife under his pillow. Strange. He is suddenly overwhelmed with the instinct to hide it.

Oosaki holding a foot long knife that is caked with blood
IDK how the blood still not dry after a whole night

After joining up with the others, he learns that Ariake had been stabbed to death in his sleep, repeatedly, through the futon, which is now completely soaked with blood. Concerning to say the least. The group is about to demand Takeshiba and Shinbashi strip naked to check for weapons when Oosaki asks to search the room. He tries to find any means of hidden passage to move between his room and this one... since he has begun to suspect one of his roommates of planting the murder weapon on him... Alas, he finds no such thing. He then stupidly reveals that the murder weapon was hidden in his bed!

Everyone stares at him... they then ask him why he killed Ariake. WHAT DID YOU THINK WAS GONNA HAPPEN!!!! He gives a logical explanation of how it just seems unlikely he's the culprit, but nobody gives a fuck. They drag him to the torture dungeon and lock him in, but not before Aomi ties his hands. The team abandons him there before heading off to search Oosaki's things. For some godforsaken reason, he trusts that they will find that he's innocent after failing to find anything incriminating amongst his belongings. He finds that the bindings on his hands were actually quite loose, but he decides to stay patiently since he wants to have faith in the others...

Instead, after they find Oosaki's gayass doodle of Ariake and his notes on the people he met, Shiodome starts running his mouth about how Oosaki actually came with intent to mruder them and his notes were his research done in advance... this is extremely easy to dissprove, seeing as how all his notes was just crap these fuckers had told them himself, but nobody even thinks of defending him. Shiodome even puts a bucket on his head and begins torturing him with his annoying shrill voice.

Realizing that these guys are actually all malicious fuckheads, Oosaki immediately breaks free and makes a mad dash for freedom. Shinbashi tries to pull his gun on him, but as we all know he can't handle guns for shit, so Oosaki just brushes past him. He runs into Aomi at the bathhouse exit, who simply stares at him... Oosaki grabs Aomi and knocks him out, before using him as a hostage to escape with. The rest of the group is powerless to stop him...

Oosaki ties Aomi up in one of the abandoned homes in the village, and tries to interrogate him when he awakens. Aomi continues to insist that he was not involved in Ariake's murder, and states that apparently he'd placed a paper in the door when he entered their bedroom, and that it had not fallen out when he opened it again the next morning, thus meaning that no one had left their room that night. But then how did the knife get there...? Aomi says that if Oosaki lets him go, he will cooperate with him in finding the true culprit. Oosaki has literal no reason to believe him, but Aomi also states that if they leave things as is, it's quite evident that by the time help arrives, the rest of the group will simply accuse Oosaki of the crime. He would have no hopes of proving his innocence.

Left with no choice, Oosaki decides to agree to Aomi's terms, but not before taking a 'price'. One that will let Oosaki forgive Aomi, even if he betrays him later on. And that price is SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE'S A HORNDOG AFTER ALL... Since the start, Oosaki was subconscoiusly lusting after this cool beauty, so now that an excuse has arrived, he finds himself very hard to say the least. Even though he's also really fucking angry because he really cared about Ariake. If Aomi was the culprit, wouldn't it be kind of fucked up to just have sex with him...? Or actually, if he's innocent, wouldn't that also be kinda fucked. Regardless, Oosaki shoves his rod up Aomi's hole with zero foreplay. He really hopes to see Aomi's cool facade crack, but it doesn't. He takes it like a dead fish until Oosaki finishes dumping a few loads... damn.

Aomi tied up and lying on the floor, looking at Oosaki with a passive expression
If I was Oosaki I'd go crazy... wait no... he literally did LOL

After his heat starts to fade, of course Oosaki is left feeling very guilty and bad about the whole thing. He doesn't enjoy feeling like a horny animal. Aomi however criticizes him, telling him that if he leaves such invisible wounds, it would make it hard for the rest of the group to believe that he'd escaped against Oosaki's will. To avoid being suspected of colluding, he requests Oosaki to leave some more obvious wounds.

Even Oosaki don't know what to say to that... what... bro is too methodical. Anyways, Aomi ends up grabbing a knife and helping Oosaki slit a cut on his own throat. It's kinda hot. Oosaki immediately becomes very obedient to anything Aomi requests, and quietly lets him go after helping to leave those scars. Aomi tells Oosaki to hide in the storage shed by the pier for the night and wait for him... Wonder why. Before heading out, Oosaki takes Aomi's lighter and knife, insisting on having at least these to help him get by. Aomi doesn't seem to care about the light, but he is visibly concerned about the lighter... He however allows it, before the two go their separate ways. Oosaki obediently follows Aomi's directions, and tucks himself in comfortably inside that suspicious shed. All night, he can't help but criticize himself for being so dominated by his homosexual tendencies. It's like some of his reason vanishes when put in a situation with a beautiful vulnerable man... well at least Oosaki's self aware of his shortcomings I suppose. Self aware that he's GAY AS FUCK!

When the sun rises, he's awakened by the sound of familiar voices coming from outside... While initially scared that Aomi had sold him out, he soon finds that the group is completely unaware of his close proximity. It's clear that Aomi has completely convinced everyone that Oosaki had fled to the mountains, while Aomi had barely escaped with his life. While the others fuck around by the pier looking out for any signs of boats, Aomi whispers to Oosaki to head to Mikazuki and search Funeno's room for his invitation.

Aomi leans against the shed that Oosaki is hiding in. He touches the bandages at his neck.

Since the whole charges thing has yet to come up this route, Oosaki is still completely unaware of why Aomi wants him to do this. Regardless, he silently obeys. Once the area is clear, he heads straight to Mikazuki and searches Funeno's room, though he unfortunately finds no sign of that red invitation. Extra unfortunately, he then spots Shinbashi through the window... and Shinbashi probably spotted him as well, as he soon barges into the room with his gun. Oosaki had hidden himself in the closet, but Shinbashi begins to taunt him as if he's already guessed where he's hiding... Right when Oosaki thinks he's about to get shot, he hears someone barge in and attack Shinbashi. Poor baby tries to fire his gun, but is immediately overpowered and stabbed to death since he's just a weak nerd at the end of the day.

After moment of silence, Oosaki peers out and finds exactly what he expected... Shinbashi's stabbed up corpse... Just seeing the method of killing, it's immediately evident that this was done by the same culprit who killed Ariake. He then hears yelling from somewhere else in the building. It seems the entire group is here, and they'd heard the gun fire and are now looking for Shinbashi. Oosaki has no time to abscond, so he remains hidden. Soon enough, everybody appears and is shocked at the death of poor babygirl Shinbashi... and of course, they immediately blame that dastardly Daiba! This pisses off Oosaki, but again he has no choice but to continue to hide... The group splits up to search Mikazuki, while Aomi remains to search the room. He immediately asks Oosaki if he found the invitation, to which Oosaki tries to explain the whole murder situation he witnessed. However, Aomi does not give a fuck about that. All he wants to know is about that damn invitation. Oosaki is perplexed, but honestly replies how it wasn't here. Aomi then requests that he head to the temple and search Funeno's corpse. Also, that there is a hidden room there as well he can hide in. Okay...

Being an obedient dog, Oosaki faithfully complies. However, Funeno's body of course does not have the invitation on it. He once again hides in the spot Aomi told him to hide in, and he begins to wonder how the fuck Aomi is so familiar with so many hiding spots on this island... suspicious to say the least. In this new hidden spot, he finds some rope and a gun, evidently left by Aomi. Concerning.

Eventually, the group gathers there and once again, Oosaki is in the perfect spot to eavesdrop. Aomi pulls an envelope off Funeno's corpse and makes the claim that Daiba is actually killing them one by one in an attempt to gather their charges... so the killings likely won't stop here! The rest of the group gasps in shock. No fucking way... he's after us... scary! What can they possibly do!? Wahhh or whatever the fuck. Obviously that red envelope wasn't there previously, so Aomi was obviously using his own to set up this narrative.

Using his thinking bone, Oosaki quickly deduces that the most suspect is Takeshiba and Shiodome. There's no doubt they're collaborating... but how were they collaborating without communicating? Because the two had never been alone together at any point thus far. Still, Takeshiba was the only one who could have killed both Ariake and Shinbashi. For whatever reason, Shiodome was helping to cover his tracts, even though Takeshiba likely hadn't talked to him about it.

Anyways, he notices that Aomi had left his notebook in front of his hiding place. And on the back page, a message is written, asking Oosaki to cut the power in Yaegaki that night and to then sneak in and hide in the basement dungeon. The true culprits would then reveal themselves.... supposedly.

With no reason to question it, Oosaki proceeds to do exactly as Aomi wrote down. And lo and behold, both Shiodome and Takeshiba end up walking into that damned torture dungeon. The two are evidently arguing, and it turns out that they believe Daiba is really out to get back at them. Still, before any of that can happen, Shiodome demands that Takeshiba forks over his charges. He's been covering Takeshiba's ass this long in order to take advantage of his killing spree, since more deaths benefited the both of them. Takeshiba tries to pretend nobody had their invitations on em, but Shiodome doesn't buy it. After threatening him a bit with a spoon, Takeshiba folds an forks over what he has... besides Ariake's, insisting that he didn't have it on him. Unimpressed by his LIES, Shiodome attacks Takeshiba by spooning out his eyes and starts... eating them. Yes. Unfortunately, it seems Takeshiba had run out of knives, so he was defenseless against this spoon onslaught.

Oosaki reveals himself and tries to intervene with the gun Aomi left for him, but Shiodome just puts out the light and continues brutalizing Takeshiba to death in the darkness. Takeshiba begs Shiodome to not eat his eyes, but it does not prevent his getting beaten to death. When Oosaki finally turns on the lighter he took, all he sees is Shiodome standing in the darkness, holding up Daiba's charges. He also recovers his own of course, since Takeshiba was indeed just hiding it. He is completely ecstatic at finding it, since now he can go free! Like.. are you sure about that.

Anyways, he blabs the whole truth to Oosaki. Takeshiba had killed Ariake and hidden the knife in the bathroom, and Shiodome had found it when he went to piss... He then held onto the knife secretly and planted it in Oosaki's bed that night without leaving the room. It was as simple as that. Asshole.

Before Oosaki can apprehend Shiodome, Aomi grabs him from behind, turning the tables. Aomi tells Oosaki that he sees that the situation has changed, and simply prefers to side with the more advantageous party. Oosaki gets pissed off, and yeets an envelope after telling Aomi that its his charges. Aomi is totally distracted as he tries to recover it, and Oosaki uses that opportunity to jump Shiodome and render him immobile. He then asks Aomi to tell him again who he thinks is more at an advantage. Aomi has no choice but to accept that he misjudged the situation.

They all go upstairs and Oosaki has Aomi explain the situation to the other surviving party members. Shijyoumae is shocked as usual at Shiodome's true murderous character, and once again as usual Shiodome seems completely unaffected by the situation he's in. Anyways, Oosaki demands everyone hand him their charges, since people having each other's has been the source of all these fucking murders so far. He tells them that he'll hand them back to who they belong to himself, so nobody will have to know who the person who saw their charges were. Since the situation has come to what it is, the group feels forced to comply. Instead of going through them however, Oosaki immediately sets them all on fire. This shit is DONE!

Everybody is shooked... particularly Aomi. He desperately tries to recover the paper, but it's too late. Its burnt to a crisp... Oosaki is so curious why Aomi is so desperate to retrieve that damn paper. Everything he did so far was to accomplish this singular goal. To get his charges paper. But why??? Anywyas, Oosaki tells the group that since the evidnece is burned, the rest of them can all go home as innocents. Besides Shiodome that is. The group seems to collectively agree that this is the most convenient turn of events. Aomi however is still visibly shaken. He tells Oosaki that he is very much not a good person, and that the only reason why he can be 'innocent' is because the others acted before he did. If he had the chance, he would've killed first. Oosaki tells him that he wouldn't kill anyone... baseless ass claim I've seen him in the other routes. Obviously Aomi's just like how could you possibly believe that... huh... But Oosaki insists! Because yes. He has once again fallen in love.

He tells everyone he has an easy lifehack on how to get help to come. They all gather at the pier as night falls, and Oosaki blows up the shed with some diesel and fire. The fire is big enough to immediately alert the coastal authorities, and a ship is soon seen headed over. While most of the group is relieved, Aomi immediately tries to kill himself with a knife. He didn't come intending to go back alive after all, and with that damn paper gone, he's lost his will to keep going. HUH???

Aomi tearfully holding a knife with both hands, pointing it at his own throat. Darkness and red particles from the nearby flame are the only light source
Aomi stab himself... that must hurt

Oosaki immediately tries to provide first aid, and Shijyoumae helps of course. Medics on the rescue ship help as well, and somehow Aomi miraculously survives...

A year later, Oosaki once again drags Shizuma over to help him out, as he did in the other route. Shizuma acts as his chauffeur as they drive through fuckall nowhere... He would do anything for his beloved cute little brother apparently, so he happily does it. Apparently Oosaki's theory is that Toyosu was the mastermind, so he's headed to the shrine address he provided to interrogate him on Aomi's whereabouts. Funnily enough, at their destination, they run into Aomi himself.... he'd actually also come seeking out Toyosu, but it turns out this shrine doesn't exist and there's nothing here. Sussy as fuck. Anyways, upon seeing both Oosaki and Shizuma next to each other, Aomi is left rather confused. Oosaki confesses that he is actually named Oosaki, and that next to him is the real Shizuma. Aomi says nothing... and seems to accept it readily enough. Shizuma offers Aomi a ride home, and he reluctantly accepts.

On the ride back, Aomi asks to borrow Oosaki, so Shizuma happily drops them off at the place Aomi's staying. He hopes that they can invite him for their next outing for a threesome and then fucks off. Aomi and Oosaki silently walk to the hotel Aomi's staying at, and it's very awkward. They're both the silent types after all.

Anyways, it turns out that Aomi was actually pretending to be his own father on the island. The real invitee, Aomi Takuichi, had died a week prior to the event from a cold. Aomi Kaede is his son who then went in his place, hoping to die after erasing the proof of his crime... Oosaki asks if he can call Aomi by his first name, but Aomi refuses. He does not like his first name. Aomi starts drinking alcohol to loosen up a bit and begins dumping his entire life story to Oosaki. Apparently, his mother was a geisha who got his famous composer father drunk and raped him for his baby in order to try to get in with his family. Alas, Aomi's dad did not give a fuck and didn't want no child either, so the attempt was in vain. Apparently he was named Aomi because when he was a baby his fingers resembled a frog's... Geez. (Kaede sounds like Kaeru which means frog) His birth mother then abandoned him in the Aomi household courtyard in the freezing rain, but his dad's then fiance decided to take him in out of the compassion of her heart...

To Aomi, this woman was his real mother. She raised him and educated him and gave him a full course education of everthing a proper rich boy would ever need to know. However she died of illness when he was only 14. Out of his love for his parents, he became a music teacher... since his mother was a teacher and his father was a musician. Still, no matter how hard he tried, his dad still did not give a fuck about him. Eventually, he took in a student who he thought to be a super genius. Impressed by his talent, he introduced the child to his father, who immediately took him in as a pupil. It soon became clear that his father loved this pupil more than he would ever love him.

But one day, the child was found hanged in his dad's music studio... He wasn't one to commit suicide, so his father was clearly the only one who could've done such a thing. But still, it was ruled as a suicide. Dad never spoke of it, and Aomi never had the heart to ask. It was only when he went to see The Whistling Girl when he realized the truth. The titular song featured in the film... was very much evidently... the pupil kid's original work... plagiarism... damn... Aomi began to suffer from clinical depression, and started to have suicidal ideation every time the sun set. Life just didn't feel worth living after causing his pupil's death.

Anyways, he dragged Oosaki here because he was the only one who read his charges. He wants to know for a fact if this was the crime that his father committed. It plagued him deeply, since even though all circumstantial evidence pointed to it, he couldn't feel truly convinced until he had some kind of hard evidence. Oosaki insists that he forgor. LIKE HELL YOU DID. Anyways.

After some fussing, Oosaki tells Aomi that if he really wanna die so bad, he can just kill him here. Aomi is shocked to hear that, before immediately presenting his neck. Bruh... Instead of killing him however, Oosaki grabs him and kisses him... but he doesn't let Aomi breathe, so it's almost like he intends to kiss him to death via asphyxiation. Eventually, Aomi pushes him away from sheer instinct so that he can breathe again. Aomi starts to cry, and says that what fucks him up more is not how his pupil died because of him, but how he's burning with sickening jealousy towards his pupil who had something his father was clearly willing to kill to have. Daddy never gave a fuck about him, but he cherished this kid... to the point of KILLING HIM.  Also, on another note, the lighter he held onto so dearly actually belonged to his father, and he hoped to better emulate him by holding onto it... Daddy issues much.

He then starts to talk about how he'd always worked hard to emulate his father. Even his stoic silent mannerisms was just copying his father... and how he found himself attracted to Oosaki... because he also resembled these aspects of his father.... okay this getting a little too spicy. Aomi starts coming onto Oosaki so obviously that Oosaki begins second guessing himself since there's no way Aomi actually LIKES HIM BACK, right!?!?? Aomi asks that Oosaki not let him go a second time... and FINISH HIM OFF if he gonna asphyxiate him again. Bruh... Of course Oosaki obviously does not actually want to kill him that's just crazy. He begs Aomi to live... and to become Oosaki's teacher in being an example of finding a reason to live. Cheesy much. But of course Aomi's just like "but there's literally no reason to live." Ouch.

Oosaki confesses his love to Aomi... and Aomi literally is completely unphased. He' just like "Okay and that makes a difference how..." Well regardless of how odd the situation is, Oosaki eventually jumps Aomi's bones. He removes his neck bandages and sees that sexy ass scar from when he stabbed himself... spicy. Oosaki still feels guilty as fuck for the whole shoving his rod in with no foreplay thing in the past, so this time he performs obscene amounts of foreplay to make up for it. It turns out Aomi REALLY does not like foreplay... I don't think he likes pleasure in general. But of course, his dislike just motivates Oosaki more. Oosaki ravages Aomi all night, though Aomi does mention that he has to attend a function at the middle school he works at tomorrow... The kids all really like him there and there's not many other teachers who can fill in his spot... Oosaki replies that it sounds like Aomi already has plenty of reason left to live.

The next morning, Oosaki wakes up to find his bed empty. All that remainds is a note alongside Aomi's dad's lighter that says "I'll lend this to you, so you can give this back to me at [his address]." He dashes outside and finds Aomi standing there with his umbrella, waiting at the bus stop. He turns and smiles at Oosaki, before acknowledging that they gonna meet again of course. 😳 Wow okay... that's a promise. Oosaki notes that his address is actually on yet another island in fuckall nowhere, but nothing is gonna stop him from having second helpings of his beautiful bae. I guess.

Aomi holding an umbrella and looking back at Oosaki while smiling. The rising sun at dawn is visible behind him
He is so gorjus

THE END!

Is his suicidal tendencies just... resolved? Well I guess a good fucking temporarily put him on a good mood... for now.

Anyways I feel so fucking bad for Shinbashi he didn't deserve to go out like that. I mean he never does, he's a sweet innocent princess.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I NEED PART 2 I NEED PART 1 I NEED PART 2 I NEED PART 2!!111111

It's clear they're leaving all the real psychos to fuck in part 2... I'm mostly looking forward to Shizuma... 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

For actual thoughts, I quite enjoyed this story. It feels pretty mild for a horror mystery most of the time, and most of the murders are pretty obvious to deduce by the time you start getting clues. Nothing actually feels genuinely spooky, and with how swole Oosaki is you never feel that concerned for his safety either lol... he's just so durable.

Oosaki is a funny guy, he is truly controlled by his dick... he's so wooden but well he's wooden in more ways than one... sorry. He falls in love very easily. He's innocent so he is prone to falling quickly into a blossoming first love... I mean he's only 22 so what does he know. One can only hope he doesn't abruptly get sick of his love and fall for another man, because with how murderous most of these men are I'm not sure if even Oosaki could get out unscathed. Though ya Ariake is literally so harmless what could he possibly do. Shinbashi is physically useless, but he is very smart so he could probably do a lot of damage without having to actually get physical. And Aomi... well he's good at using a gun. Lol. Anyways of course I'm joshing there's no way Oosaki would cheat, he may be a DOG but that includes his LOYALTY!!

Maybe it's obvious but I really got attached to Shinbashi. He's just so CUTE. All his expressions and mannerisms and even his completely neurotic paranoia just add up to how cute he is... and what ties it all together... his tsundere personality.  It's hard to find a good tsundere. You can tell he's really completely out of his depth while overcompensating with his hostile and arrogant attitude once you get to know him, and it just makes me feel so more sorry for him with how much shit he gets himself into in every route that's not his. Genuinely not looking forward to how he fucks himself over in future routes. Even when he doesn't do anything particularly wrong, the other guys are all much eviller than him I feel.

Ariake's just okay... he's your classic yandere, but he won't even get his hands dirty. The worst he physically does is drown his wives, and even then there's no confirmation whether he held down his first wife or not. He's a classic femme fatale seductive manipulator, and after he learns Oosaki is sexually stimulated by him, he just takes full advantage of trying to control him sexually. And it WORKS!! A little too well honestly. I just don't like him on a personal level... he's giving that annoying clingy girlfriend you want your buddy to break up with but he just never does.

Aomi just embodies the cool vulnerable beauty... He's so depressed and pretty. Almost every one of his CGs just focuses on how GORGOEUS and HOT he is. Ariake wishes he could be as sexy as Aomi. It's funny that even with the wild shit he pulls, he is pretty put together compared to everyone else and clearly has a solid grip on reality... his only real problem is he's super depressed and needs help. This kind of wistful appearance is exactly what Ariake likes in his women... but unlike him... I'D RATHER AOMI GET BETTER!!! He is much too pretty to die. I'm sure Oosaki will take good care of him in his ending.

Okay back on subject, besides Shizuma, I'm really looking forward to Takeshiba's route... he is genuinely so cute. I like it when he freaks and and starts swinging. He seems like the type who thinks he's pretty normal, but has fundamentally broken morals. Cute.... with how obsessed with morals Oosaki is, he likely gonna have to go through a lot of shit to end up falling for Takeshiba of all people... I'm so curious.

I'm already looking forward to Shiodome... I feel his sex scenes will go crazy. But who knows. He clearly has a very childlike side to him besides his sinister manipulator side, but it's balanced in a unique way I feel like I haven't seen before... he's cute fr. I'm soo curious to see how the fuck Oosaki gonna end up bedding a freak like him... and I'm especially hoping the cannibalistic tendencies come out in the bedroom.

Shijyoumae very clearly has something very wrong with him. Like he's just so... set in his thinking. I'm not sure how to describe him but his vibes are just so off. Very interested in seeing what the fuck is really going on in his head. And of course how the heck Oosaki gonna and up fucking him.

Toyosu mysterious as fuck,  I just know he knows more than he lets on. I feel his motivations are so... unknown. There's like no signs in any route so far of who he really is. All I know is Oosaki is not just attracted to beautiful feminine boys but also bony old men. He's not picky...

Funeno... honestly I'm not interested in him at all, sorry. He's so nervous and anxious... But who knows, maybe his route gonna change my mind.

Hinode though, I am curious... is he really 13? Oosaki's not a cradle robber is he. Anyways it's stated in the pt 2 preview that Hinode is full of anger... I find that interesting since he just acts like a baby for most of what's available so far. The only sight of what could be the real him was his apparent suicide in Aomi route. But why.... I'm curious for sure. And seriously though is Oosaki really gonna... with a BABY... No way.. right.... well only one way to find out.

Lastly, Shizuma... he's so fucking suspicious. How the hell is his route even gonna go when he's literally not even on the island. His brocon chara is so endearing though like why is he so attached to Oosaki. It's strange and uncomfortable and I LIKE IT!!!

Ok I forgot to talk about the actual mystery whoops.

I feel each route seems to prove that individual innocent of involvement with the mysterious mastermind, so on a meta level you'd assume the last routes would be the guilty one right...S....Shizuma...? Okay actually, what if Shizuma's father was involved in this... It's already strange enough that he was the one who seemingly handled Shizuma's invitation. When you take into account the supposed 'real will' Shizuma received after Oosaki left, it seems to add together that daddy had some kind of intent to have Shizuma duke it out with others on that island. Though I do think it was Shizuma's personal idea to ditch and send Oosaki in his place. Maybe? Shizuma could also just be making more shit up. I feel most of his words are completely untrustworthy, but since he's much more comfortable in each epilogue I'm more inclined to believe his words at that point.

The game definitely leads you to suspect Toyosu of being involved, though I wonder if he's just a red herring. Since he's likely the same as anyone else, and only used a fake address to avoid being tracked down if worst came to worst. His actions in each route do seem a little contradictory... like for the most part he is extremely passive, yet he took initiative in Ariake's route to steal all their damn food.

I'm extremely suspicious of Hinode. I'm so curious what was on his supposed mother's charges... Toyosu was the one who had his, and Hinode seemed close to him even so, so either it's true that his mother's name was on it or that he and Toyosu are colluding over something. It is possible that Hinode's mother is dead and he did come as her proxy to get some form of vengeance, but he remains completely passive on each route. Either he's waiting for everyone to kill each other on their own, or... maybe he's still just considering his options??? Still, he did essentially kill himself in Aomi's end so... I don't know. What are you thinking little boy.

I don't think Funode or Shijyoumae are actually involved, but I do suspect Funode may have some information that nobody else has... his death in the beginning prevented this being discovered for plot/route progression purposes... totally...

My personal theory is that none of them are the host. The whole memorial service is basically automated already thanks to the instructions Toyosu and Funode received, and obviously murders were gonna start breaking out due to the natural bloodthirst of these individuals, so the mastermind didn't have to worry about nothing happening probably. It makes sense for the mastermind to be off the island in order to 'take care of' Komuse and properly strand everyone as well, and the whole murder island thing being covered up so quickly is also suspect... so I'm assuming the mastermind... has money... Looks at Shizuma. No way... Unless...? But his daddy's dead by the opening... so that means...? I really doubt the mastermind is going to be a new character, so the answer must be present within what has been presented thus far. Shizuma does seem oblivious to some elements, but I would not doubt that he's a good liar.

When you complete the game, you do unlock access to mysterious letters in the notes menu. They appear to be written by Ooe An before her death, and very specifically document her love for her 'brother in-law'. And who... is a brother inlaw... that's right... SHIZUMA... HE HAS A BROTHER WHO IS MARRIED... AND HE HAS A WIFE (supposedly) WHO POSSIBLY COULD HAVE HAD A SISTER... IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE! SHIZUMA'S GUILTY! Of what exactly, I don't know. BUT HE'S GUILTY... Either way this clearyl has something to do with her killing herself and her parents.

Okay that's my conspiracy theory. I rest my case...

Though another conspiracy theory I have is that everyone from the cast descendents from an Ooe Island descendant... probably. Toyosu mentions in Aomi route that everyone has a vague resemblance to each other, so it wouldn't be too farfetched if they were distantly related. Interesting... very interesting... is it just a coincidence, or is this truly the distant cousins yaoi of all time. I don't know. Still, I feel there is a very specific interest in the history of the island, and why these specific weirdos were chosen to come.

Okay, that's it for now.

Spoilers End Here!

Hope you enjoyed reading my blogpost... I didn't bother editing or quelling my rambling volume at all. Whatever. What I did do was some fact checking.. JUST some.. and typo fixing... just a few... I'm tired now though. Can't wait for part 2.

  1. Honestly your reviews of these VNS always eat up, and I'm waiting for the second part of OOE too please never stop. I wonder how far ADELTA will flesh these characters out in the next review and other than just watching the playthroughs on yt, these reviews are actually where I go to all the time for the plot.. and commentary too, shit gives life. Ngl it was relatable with Ariake, I like him as a character with writing and overall his backstory is tragic, but there's also times where I want him to shut the fuck up. And relatable with Shinbashi too, I love his tsundere and cat dad vibes. Keep going with this blog!! I will wait for more
